Chester Place 6 Preview | 13th September

13.35 British Stallion Studs EBF Restricted Maiden Stakes

I like WILD DAHLIA in the opener. I liked the way she conducted herself when third on debut at Newmarket and is sure to come on plenty from that experience. She’s drawn nicely in stall three and looks ready to make even more of an impact for a stable that does well at this venue.

Tips: WILD DAHLIA

14.05 Virgin Bet Stand Cup Stakes (Listed)

HAMISH has continued to prove that age is just a number, winning his last couple of starts and is fancied to take his unbeaten record here to three wins. He has to concede 3lb and upwards to the remainder, but he’s already beaten Military Academy this season and can confirm his superiority by adding another win to his CV.

Tips: HAMISH

14.40 Virgin Bet Supports Safe Gambling Watergate Cup

Plenty of familiar faces line up in this stayed event with marginal preference for ARTISAN DANCER, who was marginally denied at York last weekend and can gain compensation. He can compete off the same mark carrying a low weight, so despite the quick turnaround, Charlie Johnston’s consistent operator should be bang in contention once more.

Tips: ARTISAN DANCER

15.23 Lotus Manchester At H.R. Owen Nursery

The Richard Hughes-trained NIFTY must be well treated off 76. She shaped promisingly when third on debut before winning both of her starts since. She’s ideally drawn in stall two and should have plenty more to come. I think she has every chance of completing the hat-trick off a low weight.

Tips: NIFTY

16.00 LiveScoreBet Handicap

Course specialist BOX TO BOX came within a short-head of landing a stronger C&D event when last seen and a repeat showing should suffice at this lower level. His last win here came off this mark and he’s been given a lovely draw in stall four. I think he’s a major contender with plenty of contributing factors within his credentials.

Tips: BOX TO BOX

16.35 Oktoberfest Season Finale Saturday 20th September Handicap

This looks wide-open, but PAWS FOR THOUGHT knows his way around here and is 11lb lower than when scoring over C&D around this time twelve months ago. He has the box seat in stall 1, so if he can take advantage of that by getting a fast start, Donald McCain’s charge could take a bit of passing on the front end.

Tips: PAWS FOR THOUGHT
