Uttoxeter Place 6 Preview | 11th September
16.30 QuinnBet Maiden Hurdle
It’s about time BETTY’S TIARA was getting her in front over hurdles. She’s finished runner-up six times so far in this sphere, including the last three times and was only beaten a half-length at Worcester when last seen.
Ben Pauling’s mare will be getting plenty of weight from the remainder and Callum Pritchard will take off a further 5lb, so she gets the vote in the hope she can take the opener. I think she has a fabulous chance on these terms.
Tips: BETTY’S TIARA
17.05 Cambion Cardiac Risk Inthe Young Charity Handicap Chase
BELLE MONTROSE produced a promising start to life over fences when third at Market Rasen last month and the handicapper has given her a serious chance by dropping her a pound.
She was rated as high as 93 last November, so if she can build on that latest positive showing, then I see no reason why she can’t get involved, while IMPRESSION CHIC is another to consider.
Tips: BELLE MONTROSE & IMPRESSION CHIC
17.35 Interlink Talent Solutions Handicap Chase
It could be another winner on the card for Ben Pauling as WHERESMEMONEYGONE looks to have outstanding claims in the third event. He jumped with aplomb when scoring by 24 lengths on his chase debut at Perth back in July prior to being narrowly beaten at Uttoxeter.
Without being hampered four out when going extremely well, I’m convinced he would have won that race quite comfortably. Nevertheless, off only a 3lb higher figure under Ben Jones, compensation surely awaits the six-year-old. I think he’s a good bet in this event.
Tips: WHERESMEMONEYGONE
18.05 Cambion Electronics Limited Handicap Hurdle
ICARE ALLEN showed a resurgence in form when capitalising on a reduced mark at Uttoxeter in July at big odds. Despite being an outsider, this former Triumph Hurdle fourth scored by nearly two lengths.
He just has to prove that win to be no fluke now back up in grade, so the seven-year-old is nominated to hopefully record back-to-back wins and confirm superiority over Liverpool Knight.
Tips: ICARE ALLEN
18.35 Interlink Talent Solutions Mares’ Handicap Hurdle
In the penultimate race on the card, a chance is taken on BOBBIGREY. She left all previous form behind when finishing third at Fontwell back in April, and although she’s not been seen since, she must be considered off a pound lower mark.
I don’t think this is a strong event in spite. Chosen Bae could be the main danger, but the selection has more to come and could be ready to open her account.
Tips: BOBBIGREY
19.05 Cambion, Jewel In The Peaks Handicap Hurdle
In the lucky last, top-weight TROPICAL SPEED earns my vote. Olly Murphy’s candidate has been in good form this year and has placed on his last three starts.
He did well to make the frame at Worcester last time out having jumped poorly throughout. If he can jump as well as he can this time, I expect him to be right in the thick end of the action.
Tips: TROPICAL SPEED
