Sedgefield Place 6 Preview | 4th September
16.53 Fairlight Studios At Sedgefield Racecourse Mares’ Maiden Hurdle
HERJA would have no doubt scored at Bangor in June with the race at her mercy when she tumbled at the final flight. However, she’s been given plenty of time since and can gain compensation in the opener.
Tips: HERJA

IVANE has been in really good form since joining James Owen and lost little in defeat when runner-up at Worcester four days ago. Dropped in distance, off an unchanged mark, if this run doesn’t come too soon, Sean Bowen’s mount must have every chance of going one better.
Tips: IVANE
18.00 HonkyTonks Handicap Hurdle
BROKEN ICE was winless for nearly three years before cashing-in on a falling mark at Perth last time out, and even off a 5lb bigger mark, the nine-year-old remains well-handicapped on past form. Callum Pritchard can guide him to another success in this weak event.
Tips: BROKEN ICE
18.30 MW Groundworks & Civils Handicap Chase
DELPOTRO turned in a disappointing effort when last seen at Southwell, but had previously impressed at this course and must have leading claims on that form. Sean Bowen is likely to ensure there’s no hiding place, so if he can jump as well as he did the last day here, then he’s a major contender.
Tips: DELPOTRO
19.00 Fairlight Studios Handicap Hurdle
This is very competitive. However, EXPRESS RUN ran a really good race when a close-up third at Kelso last time out and has undergone wind surgery since. If that appliance can bring about a bit more improvement, the six-year-old might be able to register a first success.
Tips: EXPRESS RUN
19.30 Honky Tonks Open NH Flat Race
None of the trio can be ruled out so all of them are going on the ticket. FAIRLAWN SKIPPER won at Stratford back in July and is much respected, while FRAMMY and ELUSIVE POWER, who both finished second last time out, have claims, too.
Tips: FARLAWN SKIPPER, FRAMMY & ELUSIVE POWER
