This is a tight opener. TRAFALGER has made the frame on all three career starts so far and is sure to be in the mix at the business end. But he won’t find this easy to win with KINSWOMAN in the field. She is improving run-by-run and was only denied by a neck last time out. She’s the obvious alternative ahead of newcomer MAYFAIR STAR.

DENBY’S DREAM caught the eye when staying on strongly finish third on debut over C&D in spite of the lack of experience and being slow into stride. She’s sure to understand more about her job this time and I give her a serious chance in this event. GWEN JOHN was only beaten neck on debut over C&D three weeks though and is likely to start favourite.

18.40 Fitzdares Telephone And Text Betting Handicap

DOUGLAS DC finished a respectable third over hurdles when last seen and is back on the level off a mark that is exploitable. He has placed several times off stiffer figures and must enter the reckoning with Oisin Murphy booked. THE PUG produced a good second at this course last week and is worth a second look under Hollie Doyle. He is a danger in receipt of weight from the remainder.

AMAZONIAN DREAM came within a neck of winning this race last year when second to Elmonjed and this three-time C&D winner is now 8lb lower this time around. If he can match last year’s performance in this event, there’s a strong possibility he will go one better. I wouldn’t rule out a big run from CHANGE SINGS.

JAX EDGE is at the top of her game following two wins and three seconds from her last five starts and should give a good account off top weight. BE AN ANGEL wasn’t beaten far when fifth over C&D last time out and remains on a fair mark, so she’s another to enter the equation.

FOUR ADAAY has placed at this course four times and is 8lb lower than when scoring at Sandown last September. She’s run more good races than not this year and must have every chance with Oisin Murphy in the saddle. LITTLE MISS MAGIC has posted two solid efforts in making the frame the last two times and looks capable off her current mark.
