Musselburgh Place 6 Preview | 22nd July

14.30 Celebrating The Musselburgh Festival 2025 Nursery

GILLALI LASS has finished runner-up the last twice and was unfortunate to be mugged by the reopposing Oasis Diamond on her penultimate start at Catterick. On these slightly better terms, she looks capable of getting her head in front.

Tips: GILLALI LASS

15.00 EBF Maiden Stakes

SOVEREIGN OCEAN is very well bred and could have a say for Iain Jardine, while PROUD NATION was an expensive purchase for connections and has already been well found in the market. Karl Burke has a good record here though, so YY NATION might be worth a second look.

Tips: SOVEREIGN OCEAN, PROUD NATION & YY NATION

15.30 Sankt Goarshausen 1980 Handicap

Made All got the job done at Catterick in good style six days ago and has obvious claims under a penalty. However, course regular RORY THE CAT is on a workable mark and could give the favourite the most to think about if ready to roll after a break for Lucinda Russell.

Tips: RORY THE CAT

16.00 Hays Travel Holiday Outside The Box Handicap

READY FREDDIE GO must have a great chance at this level. He finished a solid second in a deeper race last time out and has achieved most handicap wins off higher marks. This C&D winner is drawn well and must be competitive. His best form would no doubt see him back in the winners circle.

Tips: READY FREDDIE GO

16.30 Edinburgh Childrens Hospital Charity Handicap

This is a tightly-knit contest with the vote going to RAVENSCRAIG CASTLE, who was last seen winning over hurdles nine days ago at Perth and is back on the level off a very handy mark. He’s won and placed multiple times off higher figures and has good course form to his name, so he’s one to strongly merit consideration.

Tips: RAVENSCRAIG CASTLE

17.00 Ocean Outdoor Big Screen Handicap

The Karl Burke-trained ARBITRATION finished fourth in a much, much stronger race against higher-rated opponents on his handicap/seasonal debut in April off a mark of 79 (class three) and is 6lb lower in this weaker event. He was unlucky not to finish closer at Doncaster last time out and can confidently make amends.

Tips: ARBITRATION
