13.42 Cumbria Grand Hotel Handicap Hurdle

HEART ABOVE ran really well on his only previous course start (second) when a place in front of the reopposing Lightning Company, and has been consistent in defeat in every start this year. He looks sure to be thereabouts, as should VOCAL DUKE, who has won and placed at the course several times off higher figures.

14.12 Greenbanks Arbiculture Handicap Hurdle

Dual course winner SECRET SECRET won this race twelve months ago and may have won last time out but for a costly mistake four out when going well. Off only a pound higher mark, the nine-year-old should be able to give another good account of himself.

14.42 Greenbanks Arbiculture Handicap Hurdle

DUSKY DAYS made all when scoring by seven lengths at this course just two days ago, and if he’s able to see out this longer trip under a penalty, I see no reason why he can’t make a bold bid. The choice of Charlotte Jones.

15.12 Furness Building Society 160th Anniversary Maiden Hurdle

Smart stayer on the Flat EMIYN won’t have a better chance to get off the mark in this sphere. He has placed on all three starts over hurdles, and despite returning as a beaten favourite here last time out, the winner has won again since. It would be disappointing if he couldn’t go close.

15.45 Weatherbys Hamilton Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase

HURRICANE ALI is turned out quickly following a decent effort here two days ago and returns to chasing off a really handy mark. He shaped quite well on both previous starts in this sphere at this venue, so he’s one to consider. Four-time hurdle winner BAREBACK JACK was marginally denied on his chase debut at Bangor and should have more to offer as well.

16.20 Boaters Bar Handicap Chase

FAIRLAWN FLYER is on a roll at present and made it five wins on the bounce when scoring for the third time over C&D last month. He is the one to beat but don’t rule out ARTHUR’S QUAY, who has a chance if he can last out this longer distance.
