£2 bet wins Consolation prize of £31k!

Colossus Winners

It was approaching 14:00 on the afternoon of Saturday 3rd of December. Our Millionaire Pick 6 Jackpot was about to topple over £5,000,000 and punters from around the world were hopeful of a big win in the build up to Christmas. Welcome to Colossus.

Two 15:00 games kicked the pool off; a not-so-surprising 2-1 win for Sunderland against faltering champions Leicester as well as Crystal Palace’s 3-0 victory against Southampton. The latter would be the only scoreline from six that the customer failed to predict!

West Ham v Arsenal next up and the customer nailed an ‘Any Other Away Win’ selection as Arsenal romped the Hammers. The customer went to bed that night without cashing anything out as they awaited Leg 4 on the following day.

Incredibly, they had selected ‘Any Other Home Win’ in Bournemouth v Liverpool. At first you would have to assume that the customer had made a mistake when making their selection. Bournemouth scoring 4 or more and winning against Liverpool seemed about as likely as catching the actual Santa Claus squeezing down your chimney with a sack of gifts. Especially after Liverpool went 2-0 up inside 22 minutes! What do we know? Absolutely nothing. Bournemouth completed a magical comeback to win 4-3 which kept this ticket alive and kicking in the 5/6 Consolation prize!

Everton v Man Utd up next and our friend was gunning for a 1-1 draw. Safe to say that (Man Utd fan or not) he owes a debt of gratitude to Marouane Fellaini for his terrific/horific cameo at Goodison.

Still having cashed out nothing, they were waiting for Leg 6 (Middlesbrough v Hull) on Monday in which they needed a 1-0 home win.

Negredo wasted two early chances and Fischer had a goal ruled out for offside. The deadlock was broken on the hour mark when Gaston Ramirez nodded in the winner and only goal of the game. Victor Valdes produced a fine save late on to deny Diomande for Hull and the game finished 1-0. BOOM – 3 tickets shared the 5/6 Consolation money with our friend here bagging a hefty £31,058!

‘tis definitely the season to be jolly for this genius. Kudos.
