12:50 – HANDICAP HURDLE – 4yo+, Class 3, 2m 5f

PINEAPPLE RUSH has been well out of sorts on her last two starts but comes here fresh from a wind op and that could see enough improvement for her to be involved. MYPLACEATMIDNIGHT should benefit from his run last month when running well enough to suggest this mark is not beyond him and Bryony Frost is a positive booking. PILANSBERG was entitled to have needed his couple of outings after a 558 day break and he’s capable, at his best, of running well off this mark.

13:20 – ‘NATIONAL HUNT’ NOVICES’ HURDLE – 4yo+, Class 4, 1m 7f

NINEOHTWOONEOH hails from big connections and despite being a non-runner in November when the ground was deemed to soft, jumps straight into a hurdles race for his first public start. That would suggest he’s quite forward and while he’s an unknown quantity he should be capable of being in the mix here. ELUSIVE BELLE also represents a big yard here and his bumper from in Ireland appears to be more than enough to suggest she would be involved in this.

13:55 – HANDICAP HURDLE (QUALIFIER FOR THE CHALLENGER TWO MILE HURDLE SERIES FINAL) – 4yo+, Class 3, 1m 7f

HIGHEST SUN is the most interesting runner here after his two hurdles starts for new connections suggest he’s potentially ahead of his mark. CASA TALL is coming here after a long absence so may well need the run, however dropping down to a mark of 130 suggests if this 5yo is ready to go he can play a part.

14:25 – SOMERSET NATIONAL HANDICAP CHASE – 5yo+, Class 3, 3m 2f

LIKE THE SOUND wears a first-time tongue tie and that coupled with some quicker ground can see him run well off bottom weight. At the other end of the scale GUNFLEET was simply outclassed at Cheltenham in December but prior to that showed form good enough to take this.

15:00 – MARES’ HANDICAP CHASE (CHALLENGER MARES’ CHASE SERIES FINAL QUALIFIER) – 5yo+, Class 3, 3m 1f

3 runner race here and with lines of form for each runner we’ll play it safe and cover the field. TWO SMOKING BARRELS is probably the least likely winner but with this course and distance winner has Tom Scudamore back on for his father which always draws attention

15:35 – CHASE (NOVICES’ LIMITED HANDICAP) – 5yo+, Class 4, 2m 4f

CRACKING DESTINY has been improving however the return to good ground is a concern. On overall balance though he’s worth putting in this weak look final leg. JOUER BRESILIEN gave the impression on his last start that going left handed would help however back right handed here and down in trip he still holds a chance.
