Dave Tindall’s Saturday Pick 4 Preview

The weekend is finally here and we have an enticing Saturday Pick 4 correct score pool up on ColossusBets, with Liverpool v Tottenham the pick of the bunch! Dave Tindall has previewed his syndicate ticket for us, which you can get a stake in here.

Levante v Real Madrid

Until very recently, this game would have given Pick 4 players a big headache, with Real Madrid massively underperforming.

However, they look to be getting back on track after a decisive 4-1 win at third-placed Valencia and, two starts earlier, a 7-1 hammering of Deportivo and those two scorelines allow us to head to Other Away win with confidence.

With Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema all fit and in the goals again, Real can easily rack up four or more while a repeat of last season’s two scorelines against Levante – 3-1 and 3-0 to Zinedine Zidane’s men – is also likely.

I’m happy to keep the selections down to three and spread more bets over the other three trappier, games.

Prediction: 0-3, 1-3, Other Away win

Getafe v Leganes

Some context is needed in this one. Thanks to a shock Copa del Rey victory over Real Madrid, Leganes have a semi-final with Sevilla coming up. As they’re safe in mid-table and the first leg is on Wednesday, it’s fair to surmise that they’ll rotate for the trip to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Only two La Liga teams have more home wins than 9th-placed Getafe this season and a latest thermometer check shows that they’ve won five and drawn two of the last seven played in front of their own fans.

Another home win beckons but Leganes shouldn’t be too easily dismissed given that they’ve netted exactly twice in their last three away games. It means I prefer the scorelines which involve the visitors getting on the scoresheet.

Prediction: 2-1, 3-1, 3-2, 1-1

Crystal Palace v Newcastle

Palace have picked up dramatically under Roy Hodgson and most will focus on a home win. But I smell a rat here.

The Eagles were awful at Arsenal when going 4-0 down after 22 minutes and have since drawn 1-1 at West Ham. Perhaps the effort of climbing off the bottom has taken a toll and they’re just going to flat-line for a while before kicking on again?

Is it possible to build a case for Newcastle? I think it is. Before understandable and predictable defeats at Chelsea and Man City, they’d won their previous two away games against bottom-half opposition – 1-0 at Stoke and 3-2 at West Ham.

Newcastle have won four of their last six at Selhurst Park while Palace’s main striker, Christian Benteke, has failed to score a home goal this term.

I’ll make Newcastle wins the focus but cover with a draw and a narrow home victory.

Prediction: 2-1, 1-1, 0-1, 0-2, 1-2

Liverpool v Spurs

Jurgen Klopp has a particularly strong record in these sorts of games when his team have more room to play and that’s shown in an overall record of six wins, six draws and no defeats in 12 home matches against other members of the ‘Big Six’.

By contrast, Mauricio Pochettino has struggled to find the right formula in big away games despite often putting the leading sides to the sword at White Hart Lane/Wembley.

It certainly looks like an Over 2.5 goals game with the Premier League’s two top scorers – Harry Kane and Mo Salah – going head to head and I’d expect BTTS to land as well.

It looks fair then to split predictions between a Liverpool win and some scoring draws.

Prediction: 2-1, 3-1, 3-2, 1-1, Other Draw
