Leicester vs. Bournemouth<\/p>\n

Likely to be one of the footballing highlights of the weekend between arguably two of the best attacking sides in the division at present.<\/p>\n

Leicester continue to surprise and Bournemouth continue to win plaudits everywhere they go.<\/p>\n

Two managers from opposite ends of the footballing spectrum but who largely have the same ideas as to how the game should be played.<\/p>\n

Eddie Howe\u2019s conundrum is how he sets up his defence to deal with the twin terrors that are Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy.<\/p>\n

Both players have been in sensational form for the Foxes this season and will aim to cause problems against a back four who have been found wanting at times.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no doubting the hard-working ethic of many of Bournemouth\u2019s players but the quality is occasionally missing at times, and it\u2019s those small margins that are the difference between winning and losing at this level.<\/p>\n

The south coast side\u2019s loss at Arsenal was their first in seven games and they\u2019ll not be keen to see a pattern begin to emerge.
\nHowe will want Matt Ritchie and Marc Pugh to open the pitch as wide as possible to let the likes of the industrious Harry Arter and Dan Gosling go about their work.<\/p>\n

Only Everton have conceded more than Leicester in the top 13 teams in the league so that offers encouragement to the visitors.<\/p>\n

They will score, but as so often this season, it won\u2019t be enough to get them over the line.<\/p>\n

2-1 and 3-1 for your coupon.<\/p>\n

Norwich vs. Southampton<\/p>\n

Under normal circumstances, and with the greatest of respect to the Canaries, most tipsters would plump for an away win here.<\/p>\n

When Ronald Koeman\u2019s side are on song, there\u2019s not many teams in the division that can live with them.<\/p>\n

Dusan Tadic, Saido Mane and Graziano Pelle are a hat-trick of players who can win the game for you on their own.<\/p>\n

Not forgetting the smattering of top-class academy players that the Saints continue to bring through the ranks.<\/p>\n

Much like last season however, Southampton are flattering to deceive again. An epic 4-0 victory over Arsenal followed up by a dismal 2-1 loss to West Ham, a match in which they were leading.<\/p>\n

The victory over the Gunners is their only win in the last seven and Carrow Road is a bogey ground for Southampton at the best of times.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been five years since their last win at the venue, with only one other victory in the last 10 years to show for their endeavours.<\/p>\n

Alex Neil\u2019s side will at last get some reward for the hard work they\u2019ve put in this season and the much-needed three points will hoist them a little higher above the bottom three.<\/p>\n

1-0 and 2-0 are my selections.<\/p>\n

Sunderland vs. Aston Villa<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no point in beating about the bush. Whether Villa fans like it or not, their team are down.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve never seen a team with so little fight and who\u2019ve virtually thrown the towel in as soon as anything goes against them.<\/p>\n

Tim Sherwood got lucky but that\u2019s no comfort to the thousands of supporters who make their bi-weekly pilgrimage to Villa Park to be treated to the worst type of football.<\/p>\n

Most patrons can accept if their team isn\u2019t good enough, but not if they\u2019re not trying hard enough.<\/p>\n

Where\u2019s the pride, the passion, the sweat on the shirt?
\nSunderland haven\u2019t done too much better themselves and if anything Sam Allardyce was a panic appointment.<\/p>\n

The three wins that the Black Cats have managed under his tutelage can\u2019t mask his shortcomings as a top flight manager, but chairman Ellis Short does have a track record in appointing too quickly.<\/p>\n

In any event, this one will be as dour a football game as you\u2019re likely to see.<\/p>\n

It\u2019ll be a surprise if the locals come out in force for this one.<\/p>\n

0-0 snoozefest. Take a 1-0 home win as a back up.<\/p>\n

\"Pick6\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Watford vs. Manchester City<\/p>\n

Not too many people would\u2019ve predicted Watford to be comfortably in the top ten at the turn of the year.<\/p>\n

Given the way in which they were playing to be deservedly promoted, it\u2019s perhaps a little blinkered.<\/p>\n

Quique Sanchez Flores\u2019 side are playing football that is every bit as good as that seen at Anfield, the Emirates or the Etihad Stadium.<\/p>\n

Having played them once already, City certainly won\u2019t be underestimating their opponents here.<\/p>\n

On that occasion the Hornets succumbed 2-0 to a swashbuckling City side, and although they\u2019ve lost five more since then, each defeat has been to a side in the top six.<\/p>\n

Indeed the only defeats have been to all the six sides above them in the table, the most recent an injury time loss to Tottenham which was harsh on the hosts who\u2019d battled bravely throughout.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s by no means a foregone conclusion that City will take the points here and if they turn up expecting the same, they\u2019re in for a rude awakening.<\/p>\n

In fact, with European football in mind despite half the season remaining, a decent performance by the hosts here sees them cement their place in the upper echelons and ahead of the chasing pack of five or six teams.<\/p>\n

City haven\u2019t won in any of their last four away games stretching back to the start of November so a hard-fought 1-1 draw is my selection.<\/p>\n

However, any one of Kevin de Bruyne, Yaya Toure or Raheem Sterling could provide the moment of class needed for a narrow 1-2 away victory.<\/p>\n

Crystal Palace vs. Chelsea<\/p>\n

Given Chelsea\u2019s failings during this campaign, one of the last places they\u2019d want to go is across London to Selhurst Park.<\/p>\n

Crystal Palace fans are right on top of you and the old ground still can\u2019t be beaten for atmosphere when it\u2019s full to capacity \u2013 as it will be for the visit of the Blues.<\/p>\n

Alan Pardew will know that Chelsea are there for the taking.<\/p>\n

Although we saw glimpses of brilliance, particularly from Eden Hazard, at Old Trafford, they were few and far between.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s doubtful that Guus Hiddink is going to be able to turn things around to any great degree, especially if he continues to make his professionals do warm up exercises in the middle of the street. Out of touch? Make up your own mind.<\/p>\n

The difference in quality between the two sides during this campaign is cavernous.<\/p>\n

Pardew has his side playing an attractive yet physical brand of football and this intoxicating mix has seen the Eagles deservedly fly into the top six.<\/p>\n

No defeats in six hint at the task that Hiddink and co face, and they face the ignominy of having the double done against them by Palace if they can\u2019t get their act together.<\/p>\n

Whatever is wrong at Stamford Bridge won\u2019t get sorted here either. A solid 2-0 or 2-1 home win.<\/p>\n

Everton vs. Tottenham<\/p>\n

Hot on the heels of an epic seven-goal thriller comes another football fixture for the purist.<\/p>\n

Everton v Spurs is one of those Premier League fixtures that you always look for in the calendar.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re always guaranteed goals but with two clubs who invest in youth, the cream of young talent on show makes this a super watch for the most part.<\/p>\n

Kane, Barkley, Alli, Deulofeu, Lamela, Lukaku. They\u2019re all here. A roll call of some of the finest young players to make the grade in England\u2019s top flight.<\/p>\n

Both teams love to play football the right way and whichever mast you nail your colours too, the supporters that come away from this one will have been entertained.<\/p>\n

With just two defeats all season, Mauricio Pochettino\u2019s Tottenham side are being talked up in dispatches as outside contenders for the title if they can keep up their current run of form.<\/p>\n

Roberto Martinez\u2019s side are certainly capable of the same but it\u2019s their inconsistency that has let them down at key moments this season.<\/p>\n

The 3-4 defeat against Stoke last time out is the prime example. Winning 3-2 with less than 20 minutes left and with Messrs. Deulofeu and Lukaku showcasing a masterclass of attacking pass and move, the Toffees should\u2019ve been able to see out the game.<\/p>\n

Two late goals, three points dropped.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ll have to wait another week to add to the points tally too. Goodison Park is a ground where the Lilywhites generally fare well, and it\u2019s been three years since there was a home win in this fixture.<\/p>\n

Only three home victories in the last 10 years too.<\/p>\n

1-2 and 1-3 are my final selections this week.<\/p>\n
