She overcame a troubled passage to easily collect a Group 3 event at York last seen, sandwiched in between a fourth-place finish in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup and a seventh place in the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes. She was well beaten in the Sprint Cup last time out, but this is a huge drop in grade and she has a good record when fresh, so I can see her going close under William Buick.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tips: SAYIDAH DARIYAN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>13.45 Betfred Handicap (Heritage Handicap)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>APOLLO ONE<\/strong> hasn\u2019t had much luck in Meydan this year but he\u2019s an interesting contender back on home soil. He has lots of good efforts to his name off higher marks, including when second in this race two years ago and has every chance of going one place better. Top-weight <strong>INVICTUS GOLD<\/strong> has a strong record over track and trip and will improve from his comeback third, so he\u2019s the other one I want on my side.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tips: APOLLO ONE &amp; INVICTUS GOLD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>14.20 Betfred Suffolk Stakes (Heritage Handicap)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ERZINDJAN<\/strong> is only a pound higher than when an eye-catching, unlucky fourth in the John Smith\u2019s Cup on last season\u2019s return, so the fact he\u2019s capable fresh gives him a massive chance. He just needs things to drop right and he\u2019ll no doubt get his head in front. <strong>MARHABA GHAIYYATH<\/strong> and <strong>THE LOST KING<\/strong> also merit consideration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tips: ERZINDJAN, MARHABA GHAIYYATH &amp; THE LOST KING<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>14.55 HKJC World Pool Palace House Stakes (Group 3)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>QUINAULT <\/strong>made a brave bid from the front when a close-up third in a similar race here last time and he\u2019s sure to be thereabouts with that run under his belt. He\u2019s largely consistent and has a good record at HQ, so I think he has place claims at the very least. <strong>FROST AT DAWN<\/strong> placed in both the King Charles and Nunthorpe last season and a reproduction of either of those efforts at this lower level would undoubtedly see her make a serious impact. I think she\u2019s an attractive price on her return to action.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tips: QUINAULT &amp; FROST AT DAWN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>15.35 Betfred 2000 Guineas Stakes (Group 1)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I was deeply impressed with the way <strong>THESECRETADVERSARY<\/strong> went about his business on his reappearance in a Group 3 event at Leopardstown and he could be about to make his mark at the highest level. He\u2019s very consistent and should have more to come, so despite stepping up in grade, I can see him going well. <strong>BOW ECHO<\/strong> is unbeaten in three and was a good winner over C&amp;D last time out. That form has taken a knock or two but he\u2019s top-rated and has leading claims, while Breeders\u2019 Cup winner <strong>GSTAAD<\/strong> is another to include. He has yet to finish out of the top two and concluded last season on a high, so he\u2019s very much one to consider.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tips: THESECRETADVERSARY, BOW ECHO &amp; GSTAAD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>16.10 Turners Handicap<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>COMICAL POINT <\/strong>has been set some stiff tasks so far in his career and ran with credit in each of them, finishing fifth in the Norfolk, fourth in the Grimcrack and third in the Rockingham prior to running well on his return at Wolverhampton. I think with that run under his belt, Andrew Balding\u2019s charge is a major player under the guidance of Oisin Murphy. <strong>ADVERTISED<\/strong> shaped well when a close-up second here last time and is another that should be in the mix.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tips: ADVERTISED &amp; COMICAL POINT<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>13.10 Oddschecker Ellen Chaloner Stakes (Fillies&#8217; &amp; Mares&#8217; Listed) I am strong on the chances of SAYIDAH DARIYAN in the opener.
