He\u2019s gone up 6lb as a result but should have more to come.<strong> MILD MAGIC<\/strong> is a likely improver on just her third handicap start and might emerge as the biggest threat.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Tips: LOCAL DERBY &amp; MILD MAGIC<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>14.35pm BetGoodwin Sussex Champion Handicap Chase<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Despite being at the backend of his career, the high-class <strong>EDWARDSTONE<\/strong> can bring the house down in the Sussex Champion Chase. This is a significant drop in grade from his run in a Grade 1 event at Ascot and he had previously won a Grade 2 race at Kempton. This top-level winner actually looks well handicapped back in this grade off a mark of 151 and should be too good for these.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Tips: EDWARDSTONE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>15.10pm Roy Reeve Memorial Maiden Hurdle<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">It\u2019s hard to see past <strong>LORIKO<\/strong>, who will be happier back over two miles and his handler is in excellent form. He ran poorly at Hereford last time out but his precious second at Ascot is the best form on offer. Being in such a winnable race, it would come as a disappointment if the five-year-old couldn\u2019t make amends.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Tips: LORIKO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>15.45pm Southern Cranes &amp; Access Ltd Novices&#8217; Handicap Hurdle<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This is wide-open. <strong>HIGH FIBRE<\/strong> will arrive in decent form though and backed up his penultimate win at Kempton to finish second at Ludlow when last seen. He still looks well treated on that piece of form and should go well, while <strong>RELIGIOUS CROSS<\/strong> is open to significant improvement after only two starts in this sphere and enters calculations.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Tips: HIGH FIBRE &amp; RELIGIOUS CROSS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>16.25pm BetGoodwin Sussex National Handicap Chase<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Sussex National can go the way of <strong>HAVAILA<\/strong>. The seven-year-old is largely consistent and was a very easy winner at Newbury when last seen. He\u2019s run well on all previous course starts and went close on his only previous start beyond three miles when third at Windsor in January. He\u2019s open to so much more improvement over marathon distances and will arrive into the event on the back of a career-best display, so he\u2019s a serious player.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Tips: HAVAILA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>16.55pm Gordon And Angela Ashdown Handicap Hurdle<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This is a fairly-open contest, with a marginal vote going to <strong>A TICKATICKATIMING<\/strong>. Her sole win came at this venue and was last seen finishing a close-up third back here.
