GO ON CHEZ<\/strong> lost his unbeaten record over fences last time, where the longer trip found him out in the closing stages, but he had earlier completed a five-timer at Aintree and is fancied to return to winning ways over this shorter distance. RED HAPPY<\/strong> won three times last season though, and could pose a threat if able to bounce back from a heavy defeat in a stronger event when last sighted.<\/p>\n

THE GOLDEN REBEL<\/strong> is my best bet on the card here. He was only eighth in the Staffordshire Plate last time but the trip was the reason he didn\u2019t finish closer and his earlier fourth at Ayr is the best form on offer in this easier race. He is only three pounds higher than when winning easily at Doncaster back in December and has low mileage for his age, so the top-weight can make a bold bid in order to resume winning ways dropped in grade.<\/p>\n

He should go very well on handicap debut. NORLEY<\/strong> is generally consistent and shaped well on his return when fourth at Worcester. The seven-year-old is feared most for the Ben Pauling team.<\/p>\n

He has gone up a couple of pounds since his narrow defeat again last time but he\u2019s going the right way and this course should play to his strengths. This is a bit easier than last time so he has every chance of going one place better with loads more to come.<\/p>\n
