The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is fast approaching – Europe’s premier middle-distance race takes place at Longchamp on Sunday, October 3. With the countdown well and truly on, we\u2019ve taken a look at three horses that are outsiders in the betting right now but who could be set to outrun their odds if they line up on Arc day. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Chrono Genesis<\/strong> – 14\/1<\/strong><\/p>\n Chrono Genesis will look to give Japan their first-ever Arc winner and is set to be partnered at Longchamp by Oisin Murphy She\u2019s notched up two Group 1 victories in her homeland, either side of placing 2nd behind Mishriff in the Sheema Classic.<\/p>\n Her neck defeat in the Sheema was a fantastic piece of form – Mishriff has since placed in the Eclipse and the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes, before winning the Juddmonte International at York last month.<\/p>\n Adored in Japan, Chrono Genesis is a five-year-old daughter of Arc winner Bago and the Arc has long been the target for 2021. She is definitely one of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe outsiders to consider.<\/p>\n French jockey Christophe Lemaire rode her to victory in the Takarazuka Kinen at Hanshin at the end of June and he was quoted after the race as saying that the likely soft ground at Longchamp in October should suit her perfectly.<\/p>\n At double figure odds, she looks an excellent value bet to finally land the big one for Japan.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
