To get there, they have relied on several of the world\u2019s best players to help them get the job done. With that in mind, let\u2019s take a look at the best Man City players of the 2010s.<\/p>\n

Best Man City players since 2010<\/h3>\n

Vincent Kompany<\/strong><\/p>\n

A truly successful team needs a leader to steer the ship through tough games and inspire the team to push on with their agenda. Nobody did this better than Vincent Kompany. The Belgian defender matched a coolness on the pitch that helped keep the backline organized and work as a unit to achieve their goals.<\/p>\n

As a defender, he never shied away from a tackle and was dominant in the air too. The ability to go that extra mile was none more telling than a crucial goal against Leicester in the 2018\/19 season which gave them a vital 1-0 win and proved to be the difference in edging out Liverpool for that season\u2019s Premier League title. It was moments like that goal that cemented his legacy as an all-star fixture of the team.<\/p>\n

Fernandinho<\/strong><\/p>\n

Far from the typical glitzy nature of many Brazilian players or even the other best Man City players of the last decade, Fernandinho\u2019s place as the midfield anchor provided a vital link between attack and defence. His skills on the ball allowed him to start moves without much fuss whilst still providing coverage for the defence whilst many of his colleague\u2019s pushed up in attack.<\/p>\n

A looming physical presence, Fernandinho also has doubled up as a centre-back giving City an extra resource to utilize in the back four should their starting duo struggle to cope with consistent bombardment from their opponents.<\/p>\n

David Silva<\/strong><\/p>\n

It always seems like David Silva never runs out of energy and it was this drive that made the Spaniard such a handful for teams to deal with. His dribbling skills were some of the best in European football with his mazy runs capable of ripping defences apart on their own merit and creating space and chances for his fellow Man City players.<\/p>\n

Also rather handy from set-pieces, Silva was a threat whenever the play was stopped. Whether it be penalties, free kicks or corners, Silva was always the architect and a big reason why the diminutive Spaniard made just as many goals as he scored.<\/p>\n

Yaya Toure<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Toure brothers both enjoyed much success with Man City throughout the decade but it was Yaya, the younger of the two, that was able to provide the real difference between victory and a draw. Always surging forward from midfield, the Ivorian was an excellent foil for whatever strikers were leading the attack and could be relied upon to lash the ball home from both inside and outside the penalty area.<\/p>\n

His best return of 20 goals in 34 games in the 2013\/14 Premier League season was a big reason why City was able to comfortably secure the league title and establish themselves as a real force once again in English football.<\/p>\n

Kevin De Bruyne<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chelsea must be kicking themselves for letting Kevin De Bruyne walk away, having seen the player he has become whilst at Man City, with the Belgian now one of the best players in the world. Getting a second chance in England has established the Belgian international as one of the deadliest passers in world football.<\/p>\n

De Bruyne makes gravity-defying balls seem effortless sending one looping pass across the pitch and taking entire teams out of commission in a blink of an eye. De Bruyne\u2019s vision and touch is exceptional and has left even the world\u2019s best defenders watching in all. It\u2019s this consistency that has seen De Bruyne crowned the club\u2019s player of the year 3 times at the club as well as the Premier League Player of the Year for the 2019\/20 season.<\/p>\n

Sergio Aguero<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is safe to say that when Sergio Aguero leaves Man City this summer<\/a> will go down as one of the best strikers ever to have played in the Premier League, let alone just one of the finest Man City players. The Argentine striker has everything you would want in a leading talisman \u2013 pace, power, strength and composure. His finishing skills within the 18yrd box are unrivalled to any other player in England allowing him to consistently rewrite the record books in English football.<\/p>\n

Not only has he become Manchester City\u2019s all-time leading goalscorer with 257 goals in 385 games but he is also the leading foreign goalscorer in English topflight history and holds the record for most Premier League hat-tricks sitting at 12. Of course, there is also the \u201cAGUERO!!!\u201d goal against QPR in the 2011\/12 Premier League final round that saw his last-second goal win City their first title at the expense of their cross-town rivals Manchester United.<\/p>\n
