12.41 – Setsquare Recruitment ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle – 2m<\/strong><\/p>\n

DONT GO GENTLE improved on his hurdling debut when fourth when fourth at Newton Abbot in September. This looks slightly tougher, but he should improve with a stronger pace likely to suit.<\/p>\n

RUNSWICK BAY, undoubtedly, brings the strongest form lines into the race. His second behind good prospect Bravemansgame reads well and he remains open to more improvement.<\/p>\n

Gary Moore\u2019s DORKING LAD took well to hurdling when finishing third at Sandown behind the smart Admirel, having come from well off the pace, and his fourth on debut looks useful form too, so he\u2019s entitled to be thereabouts.<\/p>\n

13.11 – Summerfield Developments Novices’ Handicap Hurdle – 2m7f\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

David Pipe\u2019s NOBEL JOSHUA looks the standout pick in the race, who has made a solid start for his new yard. In the expectation of more to come, he\u2019s a massive player with his yard ticking along nicely of late.<\/p>\n

The seven-year-old, ASK HENRY, doesn\u2019t know how to run a bad race and was far from disgraced when fifth at Ascot on handicap debut last time out. The form has some substance to it, given the runner-up won impressively yesterday, which makes him an appealing proposition from a 2Ib lower mark.<\/p>\n

VINNIE\u2019S GETAWAY ran no sort of race last time but had finished in the frame in all races beforehand, so he can be forgiven. He probably needed the run more than expected so he\u2019s worth one more chance.<\/p>\n

13.41 – Newton King Estate Agents Handicap Hurdle – 2m\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the balance of his juvenile form, Alan King\u2019s PECKINPAH looks sure to go close, granted a better trip than last time. He was caught in a pocket at a crucial stage when third at Kempton on handicap debut and this race looks marginally easier.<\/p>\n

Of the rest, THE GARRISON looks well-handicapped on the basis of his overall form. He could only finish sixth when last seen but kept on strongly towards the backend of the race to suggest his turn might be near.<\/p>\n

14.11 – Invest Southwest Novices’ Handicap Chase – 2m7f\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Another tricky handicap to solve but I\u2019m willing to give Alan King\u2019s FORGETTHESMALLTALK an each-way chance. He ran well off this mark on his penultimate outing when second at Kempton following an absence, so he can clearly go well fresh and shouldn\u2019t be dismissed.<\/p>\n

KAUTO THE KING probably sets the standard based on his third under a penalty when last seen and should go well again with Robbie Power doing the steering.<\/p>\n

14.41 – Stables Business Park Handicap Hurdle – 2m3f<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alan King\u2019s SHESHOON MONEY didn\u2019t live up to expectations last season, but his reappearance\/handicap debut effort at Sandown was a step in the right direction and he makes appeal from the same mark.<\/p>\n

ORGANDI struggled in a better race when last seen but will enjoy these calmer waters and being a proven course-and-distance winner, this mare has to be respected on her return to action following an absence.<\/p>\n

Tim Vaughan\u2019s TIGHT CALL looked better than ever when winning a fortnight ago and, although he\u2019ll need another career-best performance, this six-year-old looks the type to follow up.<\/p>\n

15.11 – Mike Trickey And Geoff White Memorial Handicap Chase – 2m5f\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

On paper, Ben Pauling\u2019s DE BARLEY BASKET rates the standout selection and only selection for the final leg of today\u2019s preview. He comfortably won on his second chase start three weeks ago and he\u2019s only been put up 6Ib to a mark of 95, which clearly underestimates him, given the horse he beat last time has won off a mark of 98 subsequently. David Bass, who is on fire at the moment takes the ride, so this seven-year-old will take plenty of beating.<\/p>\n
