13.10 – Dubai Nursery – 7f<\/strong><\/p>\n

A tricky opener but TAWAAREQ was impressive when winning 10-runner Doncaster maiden last month, asserting close home against a fair field. That form looks decent and he should go on improving with the potential to rank higher.<\/p>\n

ZOFFARELLI confirmed his previous promise when off the mark in an 8-runner nursery at Kempton 35 days ago, doing well to overcome pace bias. He boasts some solid form and another bold bid is expected with a progressive profile behind him.<\/p>\n

FAIRMAC is improving all the time and deservedly got off the mark at Ayr 22 days ago. He will handle the ground and is open to further progress.<\/p>\n

13.45 – Zetland Stakes (Group 3) – 1m2f\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

From a form perspective, this looks between KYPRIOS and LONE EAGLE. Both of them were expensive purchases and look above average based on there impressive victories last time out. Aidan O\u2019Brien\u2019s charge should improve for this stiffer test of stamina and is the rightful favourite with Ryan Moore aboard. While Michael Meade\u2019s very well-bred youngster has looked pretty classy up to this point and is the most likely runner that will serve it up to the favourite.<\/p>\n

14.20 – Autumn Stakes (Group 3) – 1m<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s widely considered that this race throws up a nice horse for the future, and with that in mind, it could be worth taking a chance on Charlie Appleby\u2019s ONE RULER who looked a smart prospect when achieving a cracking time figure at Sandown on his penultimate start. At first glance, it was slightly disappointing that he could only finish third in a listed race at Doncaster last month but I\u2019m content to trust the quality of form as the winner of the race New Mandate provided clear indication on that score next time.<\/p>\n

There are, of course, some serious rivals, including Sir Michael Stoute\u2019s MAXIMAL who got off the mark at Sandown last month in authoritative fashion by five-lengths. He\u2019d previously been put in his place by One Ruler over seven-furlongs but what he has done since, however, is show a huge amount of potential and it\u2019s entirely plausible that there\u2019s more to come from this son of Galileo and he looks like a viable alternative.<\/p>\n

Of the others, Brian Meehan\u2019s AKMAAM could be interesting being the preferred choice of Jim Crowley. He was hugely impressive on debut last month, making all to score by four lengths. That performance can be upgraded as it was backed up by a solid time figure and he\u2019s no forlorn hope to get involved.<\/p>\n

14.55 – Dewhurst Stakes (Group 1) – 7f\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I could make a case for the majority of the field but I strongly suspect proven Group One-winning form is the key to the race and Joseph O\u2019Brien\u2019s THUNDER MOON is the one to beat. For him to recover from trouble in-running in the National Stakes and quicken up sharply in the manner he did marked him down as a high-class colt. It\u2019s not inconceivable to see him go off much shorter than his current odds implicate come post-time but he\u2019s the obvious choice and the one to beat.<\/p>\n

The one who does look a huge threat is the other Irish raider CADILLAC representing Jessie Harrington. He bolted up on debut at Leopardstown and resumed winning ways in the Champions Juvenile Stakes there last time when strong at the finish. Crucially, he\u2019s proven over further, so the drop back in trip shouldn\u2019t inconvenience him and with respectable form on soft ground, he looks ready for his first go at the highest level.<\/p>\n

15.35 – Cesarewitch Handicap – 2m2f\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jumps trainers hold a good record in the race and I\u2019m siding with LYNWOOD GOLD to come out on top for Ireland. He\u2019s a dual-purpose performer who was in good heart over the summer, including a fine weight-carrying performance to take third at the Galway Festival. That form has been extremely well advised since given the winner Princess Zoe subsequently claimed a Group One prize.<\/p>\n

Looking at the remainder of the field, GREAT WHITE SHARK should improve on last year\u2019s tenth. He\u2019s 3lb lower this time around, and has been in good form this year, placing at the Cheltenham Festival and was eye-catching in the big amateur riders\u2019 handicap at the Galway Festival. He won\u2019t be inconvenienced by the ground and should be able to finish a lot closer than he did last year for Willie Mullins.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile DALTON HIGHWAY and TRUE DESTINY are strong stayers and won\u2019t be inconvenienced by the ground. It\u2019s possible that this race has been there long-term target and can be expected to go well at massive odds.<\/p>\n

16.15 – Boadicea Stakes (Fillies’ And Mares’ Listed) – 6f<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eric Alston’s MAID IN INDIA turned in her best effort this season when a close-cup fourth in the Group One Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh four weeks ago and on that form, she has to be the one to beat this afternoon.<\/p>\n

BREATHTAKING LOOK normally competes at a high level than this and although she was disappointing last time out, her earlier season form would bring her right into the mix under Jim Crowley.<\/p>\n
