12.20 – Novice Stakes – 1m<\/strong><\/p>\n

An interesting novice race to start our Salisbury betting tips<\/a> and the one I\u2019ll start with is COLDEN\u2019S PASSION, who showed fair ability when fourth over C&D 28 days ago. If he can overcome stall 14 which shouldn\u2019t be an issue, he should be thereabouts.<\/p>\n

Hugo Palmer\u2019s SET POINT shaped with promise when fourth to the potential high-class Maximal on debut when keeping on strongly. He should improve from that outing and ranks one of the likeliest winners.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile MOHAAFETH is bred to be smart and was given a tentative ride to finish seventh on debut in a strong maiden. He\u2019s sure to improve here being William Haggas\u2019s only representative on the card.<\/p>\n

12.50 – Novice Stakes – 1m<\/strong><\/p>\n

Another tricky novice race to assess, but MOKTASAAB fetched 500,000 gns as a yearling and seems almost certain to improve from his encouraging fourth on debut which seemed a good race for its grade.<\/p>\n

Richard Hannon has a good record with two-year-old debutants, so his runner TAJDID should be given plenty of respect who is related to some high-class horses, most notably his sire, Toronado.<\/p>\n

13.20 – Novice Stakes – 6f<\/strong><\/p>\n

These novice races seem to be getting trickier by the second on this card, so the best policy is to probably stick with a couple of experienced sorts for this specific leg of the preview.<\/p>\n

Marcus Tregoning\u2019s runners have started to tick a long nicely of late and his once-raced maiden ENSYAABY showed a decent level of form to finish sixth on debut. It\u2019s quite possible he\u2019ll do better here and the presence of Jim Crowley in the saddle states a bold bid is expected.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve noticed Pat Dobbs has been riding very well of late and his partnership with Richard Hannon has become noticeable over the years. BILLY MILL ran a good race to finish fourth on debut at Newbury a couple of weeks ago despite running green. He\u2019s expected to be sharper here with that run under his belt.<\/p>\n

13.55 – Novice Stakes – 6f<\/strong><\/p>\n

John Gosden\u2019s FUNDAMENTAL should take a lot of beating here based on his close-up third on debut at Yarmouth. If he shows any sign of improvement from that outing it will take a good performance to stop him getting off the mark with Martin Harley retained for the ride.<\/p>\n

The one that is likely to put up the most resistance to the favourite is the Gary Moore-trained CHAMPAGNE PIAFF. His fourth in one of that hottest maidens this season has been extremely well-advertised since, with the winner La Barrosa winning a Group Three easily and the third horse subsequently winning easily at Wolverhampton. I don\u2019t think Gary Moore\u2019s two-year-old will meet anything the calibre of those horses here and is expected to be right in the mix.<\/p>\n

14.30 – Conditions Stakes – 6f\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

DARK SHIFT was very impressive when making a winning debut at Ascot, and with more improvement to come, he should prove hard to beat in this four-runner event. The 104-rated APOLLO ONE is the one likely to take advantage if the latter doesn\u2019t win given he\u2019s placed in Group Three company and his sixth behind New Mandate last time out has taken a considerable boost.<\/p>\n

15.05 – Handicap – 6f<\/strong><\/p>\n

DELEGATE THIS LORD is possibly a shade high in the weights, but will find this race much easier then last time and has the pace and form in the book to be competitive here.<\/p>\n

Roger Teal\u2019s WHELANS WAY has been competitive off this sort of mark previously to suggest he can play his part again with James Doyle booked to ride. He\u2019s already beaten an 80-rated rival earlier this year, which makes his mark an attractive one at the moment and he hardly runs a bad race. Each-way player.<\/p>\n

GAMBON produced a career-best performance when winning at Chepstow much easier than the winning margin suggested last time and a 2lb rise in the weights might not prevent him from completing the double for his bang in-form stable.<\/p>\n
