4.45 \u2013 Novice Hurdle<\/strong><\/p>\n

Flat convert Politicise<\/a> broke his maiden tag on his sixth start over obstacles, he showed a smart turn of foot to put that race away and possibly didn\u2019t see out the trip as well as rivals when a beaten favourite next time out so the drop in trip back to 2m here is promising.<\/p>\n

Gordon Elliot saddles Saint D\u2019oroux who was third in the Fred Winter, leading coming into the home straight and staying on well up the hill. He couldn\u2019t back that up in a Bellewstown handicap next time but may not have enjoyed the good ground and a bounce back to something like that Cheltenham form should see him home but the ground has to be a question mark.<\/p>\n

5.15 Beginners Chase<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gordon Elliot sent Braid Blue over to Cheltenham to run in a Novices at the October meeting, finishing second, sandwiched by runners in receipt of 8lbs, he was seeking a five-timer over hurdles and should be a decent chasing prospect.<\/p>\n

Doctor Duffy finished fourth and was staying on well though disappointed for the remainder of the campaign, he can be a better chaser and it was a step in the right direction on his second start over fences, dropping back in trip should suit. Karl Der Grosse was a very well fancied maiden hurdle winner in his second start but has failed to finish last twice, he\u2019s an interesting competitor over fences.<\/p>\n

5.45 \u2013 Novice Chase<\/strong><\/p>\n

Galvin\u2019s second behind Imperial Aura at Cheltenham in the Novices Handicap Chase ranks as pretty impressive form. The winner won cosily enough but I was a huge fan of Imperial Aura last season, backed him that day and think he could prove to be a very exciting prospect in his second season chasing.<\/p>\n

A similar performance would make him very difficult to beat although connections would like to see his jumping improve markedly for his last run at Killarney, albeit running out a 22-length winner. Polished Steel should also go well on the basis of his successful chase debut.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

6.15 \u2013 Handicap Hurdle<\/strong><\/p>\n

A complicated race in which frankly few appeal. Aunty Audrey could be on a fair mark over hurdles, her form is patchy at best but she has gone in off 2lbs higher and her record on good ground is promising at least in terms of hitting the frame.<\/p>\n

Stylish Moment\u2019s best form is over further trips than this but a mark of 107 over hurdles looks lenient based on last campaign and the down-the-field finish at Bellewstown can be forgiven on return from a 219 day break. I\u2019ll let the market guide us by taking the favourite in a race I do not envy bookmakers having to price up.<\/p>\n

6.45 \u2013 Galway Hurdle<\/strong><\/p>\n

The feature race on the day and any amount of chances. The favourite Wonder Laish is a classy hurdler who has had a far from straightforward career but strikes as the type to win one of these big handicaps.<\/p>\n

Petit Mouchoir is a remarkably consistent 9-year-old and boasts grade 1 form from his last campaign, he wont be far away but will have to do it off top weight from a rating of 155 which probably rules him out for me for win purposes. He was 2 lengths behind Aramon at Tipperary with the aforementioned Wonder Laish back in third, both placed horses in receipt of 7lbs.<\/p>\n

Second behind Saint Roi in the County Hurdle, I would make Aramon favourite on the back of his last two runs and looks a nice price at 8\/1. Buildmeupbuttercup was back in fourth that day but is mightily consistent in these big handicaps and is included.<\/p>\n

Last year\u2019s winner Tudor City returns but having achieved nothing since, at 8lbs higher he\u2019s easy to leave out.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

7.15 \u2013 Novice Hurdle<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Very Man is entered in the listed Novice Hurdle on Wednesday so it remains to be seen if he will run here but he would certainly be included if he takes his chance. He\u2019s won over 2m and 2m3f as well as being a 3m PTP winner so the 2m4f should be no cause for concern and the progressive 6-year-old goes for a four-timer.<\/p>\n

Jon Snow will be in receipt of 6lbs from that rival however and should strip fitter for a run on the flat at the Curragh, he can build on a solid campaign in maiden company now into the novice sphere.<\/p>\n
