{"id":28311,"date":"2020-03-21T13:58:15","date_gmt":"2020-03-21T13:58:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.colossusbets.com\/blog\/?p=28311"},"modified":"2020-03-22T16:02:12","modified_gmt":"2020-03-22T16:02:12","slug":"colossus-announce-central-park-sponsorship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colossusbets.com\/blog\/colossus-announce-central-park-sponsorship\/","title":{"rendered":"Colossus announce Central Park sponsorship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019re delighted to announce that Colossus will be sponsoring the upcoming Central Park Sweepstakes, as we extend our commitment to British greyhound racing.<\/p>\n<p>It was announced on Wednesday that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.igamingbusiness.com\/news\/british-greyhound-racing-moves-behind-closed-doors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">British greyhound racing would be continuing behind closed doors<\/a>, making it one of the few sports still able to operate in the face of the Coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The preliminary heats for the Colossus Bets Sweepstakes will take place at Central Park, based near Sittingbourne, Kent, on Monday 23<sup>rd<\/sup> and Tuesday 24<sup>th<\/sup> March with the winners and runners cup taking place in the finals on Sunday 29<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>As ever the races will be available to watch live on site and the Sunday finals will additionally be broadcast on RPGTV.<\/p>\n<p>Bernard Marantelli, the CEO and founder of Colossus, said: \u201cEveryone knows my love for the sport of greyhound <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.colossusbets.com\/blog\/horse-racing-tips\/\"  title=\"racing\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">racing<\/a>. My father has been a bookmaker for 50 years, has always loved the greyhounds and the focus is very much on them now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is good to support trainers and an independently-owned track in Central Park. They are under immense pressure at the moment, as many people are. It\u2019s a good time to mutually support each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dan Homewood, Central Park\u2019s racing manager, continued: \u201cThis is a real boost for our owners and trainers.
