Michael Smith was close to tears after seeing a heart-warming video of his kids watching him hit a perfect leg on TV.<\/p>\n

The Bully Boy nailed the nine-darter in an epic 7-5 win over Daryl Gurney in the Premier League on Thursday night. He raised the roof in Dublin with the first nine-darter in three years in the PL. It was the 55th on TV, ninth in the Premier League but Smith\u2019s first on the telly.<\/p>\n

But Michael Smith’s wife, Dagmar, posted a video on social media of his kids, Junior and Kasper, celebrating the double 12 finish – and it melted big Bully Boy.<\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively to Phil Lanning for Colossus, Michael Smith said: \u201cI have never felt my heart beat as fast. I\u2019ve never been so nervous, shaky, nervous, heart pounding. I sound like an Eminem song. And when I hit the double 12 the crowd booed me! The camera hadn\u2019t caught up with me so when I turned round a gave it large they all joined in. It felt weird, one of those feelings you can\u2019t explain.”<\/p>\n

\u201cI just wish I was John Lowe when he first did it in 1984<\/a>, he got 102 grand. I\u2019m gutted I don\u2019t get paid but a nine-darter has been something on my list which I\u2019ve now ticked off. Even when I get home, Junior will still say how did you miss certain darts at doubles! It\u2019s so special when I see stuff about my kids, that\u2019s all I live for, breathe for and play for. To watch that video does fill you up a bit. I\u2019m not far off tears!”<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel good because my dad was saying he wants that gold pin. I\u2019ve had three silvers but never a gold\u00a0one. But two weeks ago I think I missed it, that\u2019s a present for my dad. I love you dad, thanks for the support.”<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s my very first on TV, I\u2019ve missed a few on double 12 but I can\u2019t put in words how good that feels. It\u2019s another achievement ticked off my list. I kept saying to myself ‘Even if I get a point…’ but lucky enough Daryl missed double four to let me in. That last leg I had a job to do and nearly blew it but I managed to get it done.”<\/p>\n

\u201cTonight I didn\u2019t play the best but I got the win and hit the doubles at the right time, two points is two points.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michael Smith is now up into the top four after a decent run of form yet he still thinks he\u2019s the \u201cworst” player in the league.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI still think I\u2019m the worst player here. If I think that there\u2019s no big expectations. As long as I come here and be myself, be the best person I can be. That\u2019s all I\u2019m happy about. Even if I get beat zero points. As long as I\u2019m the best person I can be, that\u2019s all that matters.”<\/p>\n

\u201cWeek-in, week-out I keep saying I\u2019m not the best player. I\u2019ve got B games and C games. But I\u2019ve proved I\u2019ve got a half decent A game as well! I just wish I was at home watching it because I know my boys Junior and Kasper will be going crazy now with the wife. They should be in bed!”<\/p>\n

\u201cHopefully it\u2019s recorded so I can see the kids\u2019 reactions and that\u2019s what it\u2019s about. I like putting smiles on the fans faces. This is my job but these guys pay my wages. If I can make them smile then I\u2019m smiling as well. And it\u2019s been a long time since you\u2019ve seen me smile. I\u2019m usually miserable and dull!”<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s only one thing missing now and that\u2019s a major win. I\u2019m a bit like Jay off the In Betweeners, I\u2019ve nearly completed it.\u201d<\/p>\n
