Fresh from riding two winners last weekend, one of which he tipped up, Nick Scholfield has another busy weekend ahead. He took the time to speak to us to discuss his winners, preview this weekend’s rides and talk about what it was like riding the Grand National favourite Teaforthree, in 2014.<\/p>\n

Nick Schofield on… last week\u2019s winners<\/h2>\n

I had two winners last weekend. Darsi in the Park did well in horrible conditions at Uttoxeter, coping with them very well and eventually winning at 25\/1. I\u2019m continuing to find form on Jonjo O\u2019Neill\u2019s horses.<\/p>\n

Then I rode Sizable Sam who is a horse that the Jeremy Scott yard have always liked. He continued his progression and did it nicely. I mentioned him in last week\u2019s blog<\/a> as one to follow so it was nice that he came out and won on the back of that.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s a nice horse and goes to the Sales Bumper at Newbury, which is a 50k race, and I\u2019m sure he\u2019ll hold every chance. He\u2019ll love the track and is improving all the time so is doing as we hoped.<\/p>\n

Nick Scholfield on… whether Tiger Roll can win his third straight Grand National<\/h2>\n

It would be fantastic if he could. I think it would be brilliant for racing<\/a>. However, to win a race of that calibre again? He\u2019s not the biggest horse. so to carry top weight over that trip will be a very difficult task for him. If any horse is able to do it though, it\u2019s him. It won\u2019t be easy.<\/p>\n

Nick Scholfield on… Riding the Grand National favourite<\/h2>\n

There’s a Grand National trial at Haydock this weekend but in 2014 I rode the favourite for the big race, Teaforthree. Obviously that was a great ride to have and finished third that year. It\u2019s hard to come across horses like him.<\/p>\n

He actually went to that Haydock trial, finishing fifth or sixth, before I rode him in the Grand National when he ran a bliner. So it can definitely be a good trial. It\u2019s sure to be very testing conditions this Saturday though and you need a horse who can handle them. It\u2019s set to be a gruelling race.<\/p>\n
