1:35 – Chelmsford (Classified Stakes)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A very modest opening race at Chelmsford which could be a good opportunity for Watheer <\/strong>to gain his first win since 2017. He has been running very consistently recently and should put in another good showing in a race where all horses are running off level weights.<\/p>\n

With Watheer being the highest rated horse this looks a good opportunity for him to get his head in front again on a course where he has won and run well previously.<\/p>\n

Krazy Paving<\/strong> is another to consider on the back of his win over Course and distance after a wind op.\u00a0 He has a good draw and Grace McEntee takes off a valuable 7lbs.<\/p>\n

2:05 – Chelmsford (Maiden Stakes)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

An interesting maiden, in which it might be worth siding with one of the newcomers. Old Harbour <\/strong>is very well bred, has a good enough draw in 6 and reigns from the Mark Johnston stable whose newcomers normally know their business first time up.<\/p>\n

The other interesting newcomer is Sansevero, <\/strong>who is related to plenty of winners and also comes from a yard who do very well with newcomers.<\/p>\n

Of the horses who have run before, Night Voyager<\/strong> brings by far the best run when finishing 6th<\/sup> on his first start after missing the break and running very green. Apart from these 3, it looks a very weak maiden.<\/p>\n

2:40 – Chelmsford (Handicap)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Elusif <\/strong>is in great form and could well take all the beating again. However, this will be a harder test than when winning a very modest race here last time and only won by a neck when landing a weaker 7 furlong handicap at Wolverhampton two starts ago.<\/p>\n

It might be worth adding in Air of York <\/strong>who ran well over a shorter trip last time (staying on) and has generally been consistent recently off higher marks.<\/p>\n

Juanito Chico <\/strong>could be worth chancing at a big price.\u00a0 He was running well without winning on the turf in better quality races, and if his latest run can be excused, he could run into a place with cheekpieces back on.<\/p>\n

3:15 – Chelmsford (Handicap)<\/h3>\n

A race in which it is hard to look past Prince of Eagles,<\/strong> who won well last time after 2 good runs in novice races.\u00a0 He should improve further now he\u2019s up in trip and handicapping.<\/p>\n

Soldier on Parade <\/strong>should also improve massively after a good latest run in a novice race over shorter.\u00a0 He is the type to improve now handicapping and an opening mark of 70 might be lenient, with Silvestre De Sousa booked.<\/p>\n

Verdict: Prince of Eagles, Soldier on Parade <\/strong><\/p>\n

3:45 – Chelmsford (Handicap)<\/h3>\n

A 6 runner, 5 furlong spring in which 3 of the field won last time out.<\/p>\n

Tone The Barone <\/strong>was very impressive when winning over course and distance on Friday and can follow up in a similar standard race here under a penalty. Stuart Williams does brilliantly with this type of horse and he is the sort to go on a run of wins.<\/p>\n

Moveonup <\/strong>is improving and could get the run of things out in front, and would have a chance if in the same form as when winning well at Southwell last time.<\/p>\n

4:15 – Chelmsford (Handicap)<\/h3>\n

A competitive staying handicap to end the card.<\/p>\n

Social City <\/strong>is in great form at the moment and is only 1lb higher than when going very close over 2 miles at Lingfield in a race which has worked out well.\u00a0 That was on the back of winning well over this distance at Kempton.<\/p>\n

Tony Carroll’s yard are in good form and Hollie Doyle, who has been in great form this winter takes the ride. Mr Fox <\/strong>finished only 2 \u00bc lengths behind Social City last time and can again run well.\u00a0 Estrela Star <\/strong>won very well last time after some good placed efforts.\u00a0 He\u2019s improving, very consistent and a big run is expected.<\/p>\n
