Greyhound expert Cheltmental<\/a> returns to tackle the \u00a315,000 Win 8 this Friday night at Romford<\/a> and he’s pretty sweet on the chances of Savana Beetle who is his bet of the evening.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Cheltmental:<\/strong> “It\u2019s good to be back looking at the Win 8 for Romford considering we hit the crossbar for a good few weeks running and absence makes the heart grow fonder. Two graded races to kick us off mean we could look top heavy but there\u2019s some nice racing after so I\u2019d feel pretty confident in one or two selections.”<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

18:27\u00a0\u2013 400m \u2013 A3<\/h3>\n

This wouldn\u2019t be the easiest opener I\u2019ve written about and, with that in mind, I\u2019m happy to take some cover here.<\/p>\n

Trap 5 would have a bit to find on the clock, but he\u2019s still a puppy and looking at his sectionals there\u2019s a chance he could lead. If doing so I think he\u2019ll be tough to peg back.<\/p>\n

If able to secure a clear run to the bend, Trap 1 is quick enough to take this. Trap 2 traps well but doesn\u2019t seem to stay this trip as well as some others.<\/p>\n

BINKSY BOY in 4 is hit and miss from the lids but he\u2019s another who, if leading, could be hard to peg back.<\/p>\n

18:44\u00a0\u2013 575m \u2013 S1<\/h3>\n

Trap 4 looks to have a good chance of leading up here if she can avoid trap 3 on the run up and that might be enough to see her out and gone.<\/p>\n

MALLOGS DARCY moved well in a recent trial over this trip but doesn\u2019t often get much luck in running. She could have a say though if she can secure a clear round.<\/p>\n

19:03\u00a0\u2013 225m \u2013 OR<\/h3>\n

A horror draw here for SAVANA POPPY, who would much rather be on the inside, means that WALL GARDEN in 5 should get back to winning ways.<\/p>\n

He was sent off 4\/6F against SAVANA POPPY last time when he completely missed the kick. CHOPCHOP STAR traps very well in the main, so if she hits the lids she\u2019s the one who could give WALL GARDEN something to think about. She is, however, drawn inside of POPPY so he needs to be clear before she moves across.<\/p>\n

19:17\u00a0\u2013 400m \u2013 OR<\/h3>\n

TROY FIREBIRD & BALLYMAC ALBA both make their British debuts here and the pair have impressed in recent trials.<\/p>\n

They both have exceptional early pace so, providing they don\u2019t interfere with each other too much early on, the winner comes from them. CRANNOG in 3 would be the likely beneficiary if the outside traps do ruin each other\u2019s races<\/p>\n

19:33\u00a0\u2013 400m \u2013 OR<\/h3>\n

This leg looks one of the hardest of the night with so much early pace in the race.<\/p>\n

Both 4 and 5 shouldn\u2019t be good enough to take this in a clean run race but I do think ROUGH ARRIVAL might be able to show her Crayford trapping boots now drawn in 3 and, with a better start, she could just be the best of these.<\/p>\n

Traps 1 and 2 both head the bend at about the same time and might get in each other\u2019s way. I also don\u2019t think either are the strongest stayers in here whereas OISHI BLUE DUB in 6 stays this trip very well and with one of his better starts might just get a solo on the wide outside.<\/p>\n

19:49\u00a0\u2013 575m \u2013 OR<\/h3>\n

DESPERADO DAN has got a bit of a tricky draw to overcome but he normally traps well and shows plenty of early pace so you\u2019d hope he\u2019ll get out in front and that makes him unbeatable.<\/p>\n

Trap 1, SAVANA BAZZA would appear the main danger, another who traps well and has a serious engine.<\/p>\n

20:06\u00a0\u2013 575m \u2013 OR<\/h3>\n

Sole wide seed, SAVANA BEETLE, is one of the quickest dogs in here but an unusually slow start last time out put paid to her chance. If she can show one of her better, and more typical, starts then for me she takes this with only CHUBBY\u2019S CAVIAR on his inside a danger.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

20:21\u00a0\u2013 575m \u2013 OR<\/h3>\n

This really does look a competitive race with 5 of the 6 runners capable of clocking 13:60\u2019s round the first couple of bends. That means getting out in front could be crucial but with the strong chance of trouble we might also be looking for a runner who sees this trip out well.<\/p>\n

Enter SAVANA ME DADDY in Trap 5 who is drawn inside of arguably the quickest and most consistent trapper, ITSUR MATE. However, 5 can match him round those first couple with his best efforts and if he gets round unscathed I think he\u2019ll be able to draw a few lengths clear down the back.<\/p>\n

Frank Gray\u2019s other runner, MAKEIT GERTCHA, drawn in trap 1 is the one runner who hasn\u2019t clocked a sectional in the 13:60\u2019s but make no mistake he\u2019s a quick dog.<\/p>\n

Trap 2 can show plenty of early promise but hasn\u2019t been great from trap rise of late so I think there\u2019s a chance he can get a nice run round and pick up the pieces if there is trouble on the outside.<\/p>\n
