New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins<\/span><\/h3>\n

It\u2019s like 2007 all over again. The Patriots look unbeatable on both sides of the ball and are about to be joined by one of the most talented but difficult players at wide receiver. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Dolphins, on the other hand, look like they\u2019re staring down the barrel of a 1-15 season, if they\u2019re lucky. With reports of multiple Miami players instructing their agents to get them out, you worry that a lack of team harmony and effort will compound a roster lacking in ability. <\/span><\/p>\n

Away at Miami is the one game in which Brady has often looked mortal but not this year. As far as I’m concerned, the only question is by how many the Patriots will crush the Dolphins and how much mercy Belichick will show his old protege Brian Flores. Beware garbage time scoring\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

New England Patriots: <\/span>13-18, 19-24<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers<\/span><\/h3>\n

The best three defences in the 2019 NFL may all reside in the NFC North if Week<\/a> 1 is anything to go by. This is going to be a close game as the Vikings look to maintain their ground and pound approach and the Packers offence looks to click after struggling against the Bears. <\/span><\/p>\n

It’s hard not to see this coming down to the last possession of the game. Close and each way looks the best bet here.<\/span><\/p>\n

Minnesota Vikings:<\/span> 1-6 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Green Bay Packers:<\/span> 1-6, 7-12<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Seattle Seahawks @ Pittsburgh Steelers<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Steelers come into this wounded and embarrassed after SNF against the Patriots. Poor on both sides of the ball, they\u2019ll be hoping to put on a better show against a Seattle team who were underwhelming against Cincinnati but still managed to pull out the win.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pittsburgh will be hoping to exploit a Seahawk secondary that struggled at times last week by trying to spread the ball around the receiver group more than the Patriots allowed. Seattle would do well to copy the Patriots heavy use of crossing and pick plays in the pass game, where the Steelers showed a weakness, but the Seahawks offence isn\u2019t really built in that way. <\/span><\/p>\n

Expect more fly patterns from DK Metcalf building on last week after some heavy doses of the run game which will play into the Steelers hands a lot more. Likely to be a close game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seattle Seahawks:<\/span> 7-12 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Pittsburgh Steelers:<\/span> 1-6 7-12<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Chicago Bears @ Denver Broncos<\/span><\/h3>\n

This one is arguably a meeting of the best pass rushers in the NFL<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Both come into this fresh from divisional defeats and each will be desperate for the win. The Bears performed as expected on defence and, for some experts, as dangerous on offence. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Broncos underwhelmed against the Raiders in the first half, especially on defence, and the expectation that Vic Fangio would restore Denver to having a premium outfit didn\u2019t materialise. <\/span><\/p>\n

The big questions here are whether the Broncos have the secondary to achieve that and whether the Bears have the passing game to exploit it this week. The game could come down to who will impose themselves on the game more, Von Miller or Khalil Mack. Take the home team here.<\/span><\/p>\n

Denver Broncos:<\/span> 1-6, 7-12<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

New Orleans Saints @ LA Rams<\/span><\/h3>\n

It’s the NFC Championship rematch. Both teams squeaked out the win last week, although the Rams flattered to deceive more with their victory over the Panthers. Although Drew Brees was a bit more comfortable than at the back end of last season, Jared Goff still looked as though he\u2019s carried over last winter\u2019s drop in form. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Saints defence looked good in parts on Monday night but were undone by some of Deshaun Watson\u2019s brilliance. Whether the Rams can rely on a similar performance from Goff is doubtful.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Saints would be favourites in the Super Dome but the Rams having home field advantage and Drew Brees on grass makes this an even match up.<\/span><\/p>\n

New Orleans Saints: <\/span>7-12 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

LA Rams: 7-12<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Philadelphia Eagles @ Atlanta Falcons<\/span><\/h3>\n

It was a slow start for the Eagles last week until Wentz and Jackson kickstarted the comeback on Washington. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Falcons didn\u2019t really get started at all and were stifled until garbage time against the Vikings. Matt Ryan is probably the most under appreciated QB in the league and had a great 2018, so expect him to bounce back in this game. <\/span><\/p>\n

You’d have to say that the Falcons secondary is a worry and Wentz could go after the safeties so this might be a high scoring affair if the Atlanta offensive line can protect Ryan from the Philly pass rush. I’m giving the edge to the Falcons.<\/span><\/p>\n

Atlanta Falcons: <\/span>1-6, 7-12<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Cleveland Browns @ New York Jets<\/span><\/h3>\n

Hope was dampened last week for both fanbases of these downtrodden teams. Another defeat might extinguish it completely this week, especially if it comes for the Jets based on their upcoming schedule. <\/span><\/p>\n

The holes in the Jets roster were badly exposed during the Bills comeback last week with cornerback, linebacker, pass rush and offensive line all having problems, not to mention the kicker. GM Mike Maccagnan may be gone but the effects of his tenure are still felt by this team. <\/span><\/p>\n

Sam Darnold did not have the expansive type of game the Jets fans had hoped would be on display, with alleged \u2018QB whisperer\u2019 Adam Gase taking over and he needs to target more players than just LeVeon Bell and Jamieson Crowder.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Browns were taught a lesson in discipline and fundamentals by the Titans last week, their pride must surely mean they come into MNF focused. Their encounter last year kickstarted the Baker Mayfield era and Mayfield might have a field day with his receivers against the Jets corners. Once CJ Mosely went off last week, the Jets defence fell apart and, if he can\u2019t play, it\u2019ll be a long night for Gang Green. <\/span><\/p>\n

My opinion is that the Browns are likely get the win here, irrespective of whether Mosely takes the field, but it could be a blowout if he doesn\u2019t. The Jets struggle to generate pass rush and coverage and the Browns have the players to take advantage.<\/span><\/p>\n
