Voted PFA Players\u2019 Player of the Year on Sunday so Van Dijk\u2019s peers agree with me that he\u2019s been this year\u2019s star man. Somehow he\u2019s made \u00a375m seem a bargain with a string of magnificent displays that have helped Liverpool keep a league-high 20 clean sheets. \u201cIt’s the highest honour you can get as a player to get voted player of the year by the players you play against every week,” said Van Dijk at Sunday\u2019s ceremony.<\/p>\n

2\/ Raheem Sterling<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

(Last week: 2)<\/p>\n

While Van Dijk won the Players vote, Sterling was was given the Football Writers\u2019 Player of the Year award two days later, beating the Dutchman into second. Sterling won it with 62%. It’s probably fair that they won one each as both have been magnificent. Sterling has scored 29 goals for club and country this season and played a massive role in a campaign which could still see City land a domestic treble.<\/p>\n

3\/ Sergio Aguero<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

(Last week: 6)<\/p>\n

If City need a goal, Aguero is still the prime candidate and he found the net \u2013 just \u2013 for the 20th<\/sup>\u00a0time in the Premier League this season to give Pep\u2019s men another crucial victory at Burnley and return them to the top of the table with two games to go. A more complete player this season as highlighted by his eight PL assists<\/p>\n

4\/ Mo Salah<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

(Last week: 4)<\/p>\n

With 36 of the 38 games played, Salah leads the Golden Boot race with 21 goals. He also ranks 10th<\/sup>\u00a0in assists this season with eight. Those superb numbers should speak for themselves although some still can’t stop comparing it to last year’s ridiculous numbers. Salah is coming on strong as the season reaches its climax and added another double at home to Huddersfield last week.<\/p>\n

5\/ Sadio Mane<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

(Last week: 5)<\/p>\n

Salah became the first player to hit the 20-goal mark in the Premier League this season with a first-half goal against Huddersfield and Mane followed him shortly after with a brace in the same game. The man from Senegal has been stunning in the second half of the season, scoring 14 times in the Premier League since mid-December. Deservedly voted into the PFA Team of the Year.<\/p>\n

6\/ Bernardo Silva<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

(Last week: 8)<\/p>\n

Voted into the PFA Premier League Team of the Year<\/a> and deservedly so. City now have two Silvas you simply can\u2019t get the ball off and Bernardo\u2019s energy levels are ridiculous. A total star this season.<\/b><\/p>\n

7\/ Eden Hazard<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

(Last week: 3)<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve found it hard where to place Hazard in this list. At times he\u2019s simply been the best player in the Premier League but he\u2019s been part of a Chelsea side nowhere near good enough to contest the title. Hard to argue with his stats though: 16 goals and 13 assists.<\/p>\n

8\/ Andy Robertson<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

(Last week: 10)<\/p>\n

Has had a personal \u2018most assists\u2019 battle with fellow Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold and leads the way with 11 after providing two more in the 5-0 romp against Huddersfield. Fun fact: Robertson is the first defender to break the 200 points mark in the official Fantasy Premier League game.<\/p>\n

9\/ David Silva<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

(Last week: 9)<\/p>\n

Helped City boss both games and score two vital away wins at Manchester United and Burnley. Thriving again at the end of the season and a key component in City\u2019s amazing march towards the brink of title glory.<\/p>\n

10\/ Heung-Min Son<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

(Last week: 7)<\/p>\n

A total of 12 Premier League goals and six assists for the all-action Korean and has produced enough excellent displays to be one of just two non-Liverpool\/Manchester City players in this top 10.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
