@DaveTindallgolf<\/a>\u2018s Race to the Premier League Player of the Year after Matchday 29.<\/p>\n

1\/ Virgil Van Dijk<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

(Last week: 1)<\/em><\/p>\n

Once again majestic in a man-of-the-match display against Everton at Goodison Park. Van Dijk has now orchestrated successive clean sheets against Man Utd, Watford and Everton. A shame his strikers have fired blanks in two of those. Liverpool\u2019s Rolls-Royce defender is increasing his lead at the top as we approach the final stretch.<\/p>\n

2\/ Sergio Aguero<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

(Last week: 2)<\/em><\/p>\n

As well as being the Premier League\u2019s top scorer with 18 goals, no player has hit the woodwork more times than the City striker. He took that latter tally to six with another near-miss in the 1-0 win at Bournemouth, a result which saw City end the weekend on top of the table.<\/p>\n

3\/ Raheem Sterling<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

(Last week: 3)<\/em><\/p>\n

It\u2019s nip and tuck between Aguero and Sterling in the silver\/bronze standings. Sterling has nine assists to go with his 12 goals but that output has just dropped a little in the last couple of months. In 2019, Sterling has netted three PL goals while Aguero has nine so the Argentine stays ahead for now.<\/p>\n

4\/ Eden Hazard<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

(Last week: 5)<\/em><\/p>\n

The Premier League\u2019s assist king with 11 so far this season \u2013 two more than anyone else. His latest came in the 2-1 win at Fulham and he looks far happier with a proper striker, Gonzalo Higuain, playing as a focal point. Hazard has also found the net 12 times so he\u2019s made a direct contribution to 23 of Chelsea\u2019s 49 goals.<\/p>\n

5\/ Paul Pogba<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

(Last week: 6)<\/em><\/p>\n

At some stage he was going to miss a penalty with his daft, stuttering run-up but fluffing his lines from the spot against Southampton ultimately didn\u2019t matter as United racked up yet another three points. The Frenchman has 11 goals and nine assists and would be in the top three of this list if the starting point was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer\u2019s arrival at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

6\/ Mo Salah<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

(Last week: 4)<\/em><\/p>\n

Salah has mixed inspiration with frustration this season. There\u2019s been plenty of highlights with 17 Premier League goals (one behind Aguero) and nine assists but it\u2019s been a disappointing week for the Egyptian. After looking subdued against Man Utd, he missed a couple of glorious chances against Everton and also failed to find the net in the 5-0 rout over Watford. Down two places.<\/p>\n

7\/ Heung-Min Son<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

(Last week: 7)<\/em><\/p>\n

His usual lively self in the first half of the London derby although couldn\u2019t find a way through. Still, his energy and goals have been crucial for Spurs this season, especially during Harry Kane\u2019s absence. Worth his weight in gold.<\/p>\n

8\/ David Silva<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

(Last week: 9)<\/em><\/p>\n

Even Pep Guardiola admits the Spanish maestro hasn\u2019t quite hit the heights of his dazzling early-season form since coming back from injury. But, here\u2019s a point\u2026. if Liverpool had him in their midfield, the Reds would probably still be top of the table. When things get tight in the closing games of the season, Silva\u2019s wizardry could make the difference.<\/p>\n

9\/ Sadio Mane<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

(Last week: 8)<\/em><\/p>\n

Tried as a central striker again at Everton but it didn\u2019t work this time following his double from the same position against Watford. Has 14 Premier League goals for the season though and has often looked Liverpool\u2019s most dynamic force.<\/p>\n

10\/ Harry Kane<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

(Last week: N\/A)<\/em><\/p>\n

The World Cup Golden Boot winner is back in the top 10 after returning from injury and doing what he does best. First, a comeback goal against Burnley and then a vital penalty to give Spurs a draw in the North London derby. Despite missing games, he has 16 PL goals, just two behind leader Aguero.<\/p>\n
