2\/ Virgil Van Dijk<\/a><\/u><\/u><\/b><\/h4>\n

<\/u>The giant Dutchman didn\u2019t last the full 90 against Southampton due to a rib problem but was imperious up to his departure, snuffing out potential danger when Saints got behind the Liverpool defence. The Reds haven\u2019t conceded a Premier League goal at Anfield since February and Van Dijk has been the top-flight\u2019s most impressive defender.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u> <\/u><\/p>\n

3\/ Sergio Aguero<\/a><\/u><\/u><\/b><\/h4>\n

<\/u> <\/u>(Last week: 5)<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u>It was probably inevitable that Aguero would mark his 300th<\/sup> appearance for City with a goal. His opener against Cardiff set the Citizens on the way to a 5-0 win and was his 205th<\/sup> for the club. In terms of this season, that\u2019s four in the bank in the Premier League and let\u2019s not forget his two assists and brace in the 2-0 Community Shield win.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u> <\/u><\/p>\n

4\/ Sadio Mane<\/a><\/u><\/u><\/b><\/h4>\n

<\/u> <\/u>(Last week: 2)<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Smart play to set up Shaqiri\u2019s shot which led to a 10th-minute Southampton own goal<\/a> and he\u2019s been involved in so much of Liverpool\u2019s best attacking moments this season despite officially not registering an assist. You can\u2019t argue with his four goals though and he\u2019s been the constant menace when Salah or Firmino have taken it in turns to dip.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u> <\/u><\/p>\n

5\/ Marcus Alonso<\/a><\/u><\/u><\/b><\/h4>\n

<\/u> <\/u>(Last week: 4)<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u>He\u2019s been a regular in the top five this season due mainly to his attacking prowess which peaked with that late winner against Arsenal. But let\u2019s not forget he has defensive duties too and the shutout against West Ham was Chelsea\u2019s second clean sheet in three Premier League starts.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u> <\/u><\/p>\n

6\/ Aleksandar Mitrovic<\/a><\/u><\/u><\/b><\/h4>\n

<\/u> <\/u>(Last week: N\/A)<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u>Newcastle, Cardiff and Huddersfield are the bottom three because they don\u2019t have anyone to put the ball in the net. Oh what they\u2019d give for Mitrovic, who now sits alongside Eden Hazard at the top of the scoring charts after his late equaliser against Watford. The Serbian has scored five of Fulham\u2019s eight Premier League goals so far.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u> <\/u><\/p>\n

7\/ James Milner<\/a><\/u><\/u><\/b><\/h4>\n

<\/u> <\/u>(Last week: 7)<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u>Klopp decided to give him a rest on Saturday. It lasted 45 minutes as, worried at how Southampton were getting in behind, he called on his trusty midfielder to close the gaps which Milner did with his usual aplomb. His goal and two assists tell a fraction of his contribution to the Reds so far and that clattering tackle on Neymar in midweek has further cemented his status.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

8\/ James Madison<\/a><\/u><\/u><\/b><\/h4>\n

<\/u> <\/u>(Last week: N\/A)<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u>With Leicester not exacting pulling up any trees so far, Madison may have been spared some of the criticism having only made the move up from the Championship this summer. But, instead, he\u2019s been the Foxes\u2019 standout star. A second-half strike against Huddersfield made it two in two and three for the season.<\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u> <\/u><\/p>\n

9\/ Raheem Sterling<\/a><\/u><\/u><\/b><\/h4>\n

(Last week: N\/A)<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u>Sterling has been hovering around the fringes of the top 10 all season but I\u2019ll promote him into it this week as he\u2019s been one of Man City\u2019s best performers so far and the champions have only dropped two points out of 18. The England star has registered three goals and an assist and 73% of his shots have been on target.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

10\/ Roberto Firmino<\/a><\/u><\/u><\/b><\/h4>\n

<\/u> <\/u>(Last week: 8)<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u>Not at his best v Southampton but only a few days later the Brazilian had banged in a late winner against PSG. Along with that Champions League strike, he has two goals and two assists in the Premier League and is absolutely crucial to this Liverpool team.<\/p>\n
