After some fantastic midweek European football, domestic fixtures are back this weekend. We had a nice set of Premier League fixtures to create a \u00a330,000 Correct Score Pick 4, kicking off with Southampton v Chelsea. Dave Tindall has previewed his Syndicate selections for us here.<\/p>\n
Chelsea go into the weekend a full 10 points off a Champions League spot. They need a maximum 18 points from their last six games to have any hope of a top four finish but it\u2019s hard to see them keeping up their end of the bargain after just one win in their last eight games in all comps.<\/p>\n
This is actually a dress rehearsal for the pair\u2019s FA Cup semi-final next weekend so both managers will want to spot potential flaws as well as concentrating on the task in hand.<\/p>\n
Former Chelsea star Mark Hughes had a poor record against the Blues when in charge of Stoke but this is actually his first home game since taking charge so at least the atmosphere should be positive.<\/p>\n
Chelsea haven\u2019t kept a clean sheet in eight games and Southampton are leaky at the back so this is a BTTS game for me. It\u2019s hard to trust either but Chelsea have much more potential to knock a few in if their big stars are up for it.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/strong>Prediction: 2-1, 1-1, 0-2,\u00a01-2, 1-3<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Palace (31) are three points from safety while Brighton (35) are seven points clear of the drop zone and both will see this as a chance to take a big stride towards safety.<\/p>\n The greater urgency belongs to Palace but just four home wins from 16 played shows that they still struggle to put away sides even when appearing to play well.<\/p>\n Brighton are poor on the road though and have won just twice. They\u2019ve also taken just a single point in their last four matches and have failed to score in eight of their last 11 on the road.<\/p>\n I see this as an Under 2.5 goals game, with Palace the team to come out on top if there is a winner.<\/p>\n Prediction: 1-0, 2-0, 2-1, 0-0, 1-1<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n I think this could be a little harder for Liverpool than many predict\u00a0as they come down from the high of their Champions League triumph against Man City.<\/p>\n Jurgen Klopp either has to keep relying on his big guns, who perhaps need a rest, or turn to back-up players who just don\u2019t have the same goal threat.<\/p>\n Mid-table Bournemouth are not easy to shake off as shown by the stat that they\u2019ve won a league-high 18 points from losing positions this season.<\/p>\n The Cherries have scored in all six of their Premier League away games in 2018 so are good for a goal and hence this becomes another BTTS.
