Tottenham v Leicester<\/strong><\/h2>\n

It was the Foxes who ultimately deserved last season\u2019s English Premier League title but\u00a0there won\u2019t be too many arguments against those who suggested that it was Tottenham\u00a0who actually played the best football.<\/p>\n

The Lilywhites have carried on where they left off whilst their visitors have tailed off \u2013 in\u00a0their domestic league at any rate. Unbeaten and unbowed in Europe, Leicester need one\u00a0more win to be mathematically certain to reach the knock out stages of the Champions\u00a0League at their first attempt.<\/p>\n

Clearly this isn\u2019t going to be all plain sailing for the hosts, but at home, Spurs are fearsome\u00a0going forward and solid in defence.<\/p>\n

In short, they\u2019re already bearing the hallmarks again of a side that is more than capable of\u00a0challenging for the title at the tail end of the campaign.<\/p>\n

If they\u2019re to win here however, Riyad Mahrez has to be marked out of the game from the\u00a0first whistle.<\/p>\n

Allow the mercurial midfielder to get into the game and he will, as he has done many times\u00a0before, cause havoc.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m tipping Leicester to make life difficult but Tottenham to shade it in a 2-1<\/strong> home victory.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Middlesbrough v Bournemouth<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Both teams pulled off surprising but well deserved draws against their north London\u00a0opponents last week, draws that will give them confidence ahead of this one.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re almost certain to see a much more attacking game given than each side likes to\u00a0express themselves in the same way.<\/p>\n

Aitor Karanka has a kindred spirit in opposite number Eddie Howe and although points\u00a0mean prizes, if there\u2019s an improvement from their staff, each manager will be happy.<\/p>\n

Likewise, the fans pay to be entertained and this is a game where they\u2019ll get their money\u2019s\u00a0worth.<\/p>\n

If there\u2019s one issue that Karanka needs to address it\u2019s Boro\u2019s lack of goals.<\/p>\n

Penetration in the right areas doesn\u2019t seem to be a problem but finishing off attacks\u00a0definitely is.<\/p>\n

Bournemouth will at least afford them chances to add to their meagre tally but ultimately\u00a0neither side have enough about them to take all three points.<\/p>\n

An entertaining 1-1<\/strong> at the Riverside.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Crystal Palace v Liverpool<\/strong><\/h2>\n

All of the focus pre-match will be on Christian Benteke and whether he can derail his old\u00a0side\u2019s terrific start to the season.<\/p>\n

The Belgian has his critics but given the right service, he is a beast of a centre-forward.\u00a0Unfortunately, his style was one that didn\u2019t fit into the manner of play which manager\u00a0Jurgen Klopp desired – which is the German\u2019s prerogative.<\/p>\n

You can\u2019t really argue with him given how well the Reds have done to this point.<\/p>\n

Although Benteke will be the danger man, Klopp is likely to have his players concentrate on\u00a0stifling the creativity of Palace\u2019s wingers, such as Andros Townsend. Stop the crosses, you\u00a0stop the goals.<\/p>\n

Palace meanwhile, face a team that are quick on the counter and decisive when necessary.\u00a0Play them at their own game and there\u2019s only one winner. However, Alan Pardew won\u2019t set\u00a0up defensively because it\u2019s not in his nature to do so.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s laudable from the Eagles to come out fighting but they should really be taking a leaf out\u00a0of Jose Mourinho\u2019s Manchester United. OK, it wasn\u2019t pretty, but it was effective.<\/p>\n

I just can\u2019t see that happening so Palace will pay the penalty, Benteke\u2019s late consolation will\u00a0be little consolation as Liverpool head back to Anfield with a 1-3<\/strong> away win.<\/p>\n

Who\u2019d have thought it \u2013 Juve knocked back at a resurgent AC Milan to see the latter pull to\u00a0within two points of the leaders \u2013 who were running away with Serie A at one stage, even\u00a0so early on.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a real wake up call for Max Allegri\u2019s side and they need to get straight back to winning\u00a0ways against Napoli.<\/p>\n

And what an atmosphere we are in for! Gonzalo Higuain against his old side. The sub-text is\u00a0wonderful and if the Bianconeri turn up to this one with the same attitude as against Milan,\u00a0they could find themselves undone again.<\/p>\n

They are formidable at home though, Sevilla coming closest to a win this season at Juventus\u00a0Stadium.<\/p>\n

Clearly, Napoli have to be at it straight away and press high, hard and fast, whilst also\u00a0ensuring defensive solidity.<\/p>\n

They are capable of a result but can they fulfil their promise? On this occasion I\u2019m saying no.<\/p>\n

It will go to the wire though, a late winner for the hosts meaning a 1-0<\/strong> home win.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Everton v West Ham<\/strong><\/h2>\n

West Ham got out of jail at the London Stadium last weekend with their winner against\u00a0Sunderland coming in the last 10 seconds.<\/p>\n

Although the Hammers were dominant for long periods, they\u2019re not clicking in anything like\u00a0the same way as they were last season. Against Everton, they will be ripped apart.\u00a0The Toffees are the east Londoners bogey team, and at Goodison Park the visitors have a\u00a0wretched record. The last thing that Slaven Bilic\u2019s side would need after a morale-boosting\u00a0victory \u2013 however it came \u2013 is to be up against Ronald Koeman\u2019s swashbucklers.<\/p>\n

Although they found Burnley a tough nut to crack, as did neighbours Liverpool, against a\u00a0team like West Ham, that will come to play football, the hosts will showcase their full\u00a0repertoire and the match could be over before half time.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no doubt that when they\u2019re on their game, the Hammers can be a match for anyone\u00a0but they just can\u2019t get going. It\u2019s far too early to suggest that Bilic could be on his way but\u00a0clearly he needs to provide something extra at this point.<\/p>\n

Perhaps he can take a leaf out of Koeman\u2019s book. Man against boy here with an easy 3-0<\/strong>\u00a0home victory.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Southampton v Chelsea<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Blues are beginning to find their rhythm under Antonio Conte now and are one of the\u00a0best teams to watch in the division.<\/p>\n

Diego Costa is thriving again in a side that has exorcised the demons of Jose Mourinho and\u00a0reinvented itself as a contender once more.<\/p>\n

Southampton will be a positive opponent for the west Londoners, the Saints always a team\u00a0who like to play the right way, getting the ball down and their wide men funnelling the\u00a0channels.<\/p>\n

The width could cause problems for Conte\u2019s own attacking intent given that his wing-backs\u00a0may have to sit a little narrower than they have been used to at this point.<\/p>\n

A fiercely contested midfield battle is where this will be won or lost, with Costa the outlet\u00a0and, most-likely, the match winner.<\/p>\n
