The opening Premier League weekend was all we expected and more.<\/p>\n

Claudio Ranieri\u2019s Leicester side will already be aware after just 90 minutes of the 2016\/17\u00a0campaign, just how hard it will be to retain their title \u2013 although the Italian did say as much\u00a0before the Foxes became the first reigning champions in 27 years to lose the first fixture of\u00a0the following season.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve six more fixtures for you to get your head around this week, and remember you must\u00a0bet a minimum of \u00a32 to be in with a chance of winning the lottery-sized \u00a32m jackpot. Here\u00a0we go\u2026.<\/p>\n

Burnley v Liverpool<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Clarets can count themselves unlucky, going down at home by the odd goal to Swansea.<\/p>\n

Although they have the luxury of another Turf Moor fixture, it\u2019s against a Liverpool side who\u00a0will be buoyant after their second half performance against Arsenal.<\/p>\n

Sean Dyche\u2019s sides are always hard-working and give the punters exactly what they want,\u00a0but they do tend to lack that little bit of quality to get them over the line in games.<\/p>\n

Indeed, the performance against Swansea is the most recent example of the same.<\/p>\n

It would be easy for them to fall into the same pattern as previously in this division and if\u00a0three points is beyond them here, they must at least come away with a draw.<\/p>\n

Two losses from two would be the worst possible start but with Coutinho, Lallana and Mane\u00a0in particular in such stunning form, I can\u2019t see past another entertaining away win for Jurgen\u00a0Klopp\u2019s swashbucklers.<\/p>\n

The German will have to work miracles at the back to keep a clean sheet mind.<\/p>\n

My first prediction of the week is a 1-3 away victory.<\/p>\n

West Brom v Everton<\/strong><\/p>\n

The blue half of Merseyside will be just as happy as their near-neighbours after their\u00a0opening day draw against much fancied Tottenham.<\/p>\n

Although the Lilywhites haven\u2019t spent heavily in the market, Mauricio Pochettino knows\u00a0exactly what he wants from his players and vice-versa.<\/p>\n

With Ronald Koeman at the helm Everton are still in transition, so to take a well-deserved\u00a0point would\u2019ve pleased the Dutchman.<\/p>\n

Now they\u2019ve an altogether different proposition to deal with in the form of a resilient West\u00a0Brom side who\u2019ll be smarting from their defeat at Crystal Palace.<\/p>\n

Tony Pulis\u2019 side are the most attractive to watch but the Welshman makes the most of what\u00a0he can given the tools he has at his disposal.<\/p>\n

It might not be too long before he sees a decent injection of cash for transfers after the\u00a0Baggies were taken over.<\/p>\n

However, it\u2019s unlikely to happen before the close of this window.<\/p>\n

Two contrasting styles at the Hawthorns but only one winner.<\/p>\n

Koeman\u2019s education at Barcelona will see to it that the Toffee\u2019s have just that little bit more\u00a0about them and will take this by the odd goal 1-2.<\/p>\n

Leicester v Arsenal<\/strong><\/p>\n

What a game already we have in prospect at the King Power Stadium.<\/p>\n

At the time of writing it isn\u2019t known how serious the injuries are to Arsenal\u2019s Alex Iwobi and\u00a0Aaron Ramsey, but clearly Arsene Wenger needs to do some major reshuffling work.<\/p>\n

The time for excuses has long since past and the insistence on being happy with his squad\u00a0whilst potentially true, is beginning to make the Frenchman look like a martyr.<\/p>\n

The Gunners simply have to spend big for a change or risk really being left behind this\u00a0season.<\/p>\n

Finishing fourth does appear to have become a genuine aim for the north Londoners but\u00a0they won\u2019t even be guaranteed that if they don\u2019t invest.<\/p>\n

Is it any wonder why Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are not committing their futures to the\u00a0club.<\/p>\n

Ranieri has that important commodity of time on his side to rebuild and, uniquely, there\u2019s\u00a0no real pressure on him and his staff to repeat their heroics of last season.<\/p>\n

With Champions League football to contend with too, this could be just as hard a season for\u00a0the Foxes to endure.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll likely see an entertaining game in the Midlands but neither side will do enough to take\u00a0the three points.<\/p>\n

A 1-1 that will suit the hosts more than their opponents.<\/p>\n

Sunderland v Middlesbrough<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first north-east derby of the season and it promises to be a belter.<\/p>\n

Although it doesn\u2019t hold quite the same cachet as when Newcastle are in town, Sunderland\u00a0will want to show Middlesbrough who\u2019s boss in the locale.<\/p>\n

David Moyes has his first chance to impress the home support and despite losing at\u00a0Manchester City in the season opener, his side were compact and hard to break down.<\/p>\n

In short, they had all of the hallmarks of a typical Moyes outfit.<\/p>\n

The Black Cats\u2019 last two seasons have been the stuff of nightmares, ditto the trajectory of\u00a0Moyes, so this season represents a chance for both to restore battered reputations.<\/p>\n

Boro are a decent outfit who\u2019ve invested well as usual, and in Aitor Karanka they have a\u00a0manager who can lead them to the promised land.<\/p>\n

Still finding their feet in their new surroundings, this game could come a bit too quickly for\u00a0the visitors, but they\u2019ll put in a good showing regardless.<\/p>\n

A 1-0 victory for the hosts won\u2019t quite be the classic everyone wants, but the home fans will\u00a0go home happy.<\/p>\n

Sporting Gijon v Athletic Bilbao<\/strong><\/p>\n

Despite finishing 5 th in La Liga last season, Athletic Bilbao were a cavernous 29 points behind\u00a0eventual champions Barcelona.<\/p>\n

To give that a little more perspective, they finished 30 points ahead of bottom placed\u00a0Levante.<\/p>\n

Disappointingly for Ernesto Valverde\u2019s side, they were also just one win away from finishing\u00a0in the Champions League positions.<\/p>\n

It\u2019ll be a stretch for the Basques to break into the top three \u2013 they were also 26 points\u00a0behind third-placed Atletico Madrid \u2013 so the best that Los Leones can hope for is \u2018same\u00a0again.\u2019<\/p>\n

Although Europa League participation could hamper them slightly, Villarreal who finished\u00a0ahead of them in fourth, are not at equipped to deal with European football\u2019s premier\u00a0competition.<\/p>\n

Sporting on the other hand left it very late indeed to confirm their status for another\u00a0season.<\/p>\n

Abelardo Fernandez would like to see a significant improvement on that from his players\u00a0but when all is said and done, if they remain in the division come May time, it will be\u00a0another job well done from a team operating on a shoestring budget at present.<\/p>\n

It\u2019ll be scrappy and neither will be cock-a- hoop about an opening day goalless draw 0-0.<\/p>\n

Atalanta v Lazio<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s four years almost to the day since Lazio won on this ground, despite holding the upper\u00a0hand in the fixture in general terms.<\/p>\n

Indeed, two wins in three months either side of the 2012 summer break are the only\u00a0victories for the visitors in the last 13 years there.<\/p>\n

Atalanta are hardly one of Serie A\u2019s glamour sides with the greatest of respect, but what\u00a0they are is a group of hard-workers who are prepared to go to war for the cause.<\/p>\n

What they lack in quality, they make up for in endeavour.<\/p>\n

Gian Piero Gasperini knows that he hasn\u2019t got anywhere close to the quality that Simone\u00a0Inzaghi can call upon, but his side will frustrate their more illustrious opponents for the\u00a0most part.<\/p>\n

I can quite easily see this one settled by a late Ciro Immobile tap in. 0-1 is my final prediction\u00a0this week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
